micronutrients and maintain them in soluble form in soil, chelation of these
nutrients with chelating agents is the only solution. Chelating agents or
chelators are organic compounds that bind the metals, avoid their
precipitation in soil thus increase their water solubility and plant availability
(Wallace, 1963).

(2005) revealed that the yield and quality vegetable grown with organic
fertilizer grew better and result in a higher total yield than those grown with
chemical fertilizer.the study of Yanar D.Gebologlu N. et al. (2011) state that
organic fertilizer provided better yield than the chemical fertilizer. They
contributed to a better than more balanced nutrients supply. According to
Gonzales, Caralde, and Aban (2015), the application of organic fertilizer
greatly enhanced growth and yield performance of pechay. The application of
organic fertilizer in pechay specifically, compost, is recommended since it
influences its growth and yield, especially on the leaf area and fresh weight.

The passage of Philippine Republic Act 10068, otherwise known as the
Organic Agriculture Act of 2010 which endorses natural farming technology
using local materials such as fermented plant juice (FPJ) in agricultural
production, demands the identification of various cost-effective, safe and eco-
friendly sources of nutrients for organic crop production.
With this, the Department of Agriculture (DA) of the Philippines has been
promoting the production of High Value Crops (HVCs) in order farmers to earn
higher incomes. These farmers are being encouraged to use fermented plant
goods in growing their crops. This is much safer and efficient instead of using
chemical fertilizers (Maghirang, 2018)

Methodology
This part states about the research design, sampling area, sampling
procedure, research instrument used and the data collection method.
Sampling area
Mat- one of the abundant place with wealthy fruit and vegetable. The local
economy is mainly an agricultural area specifically in the area of Mat-i
National High School. Its income basically comes from crop production,
freshwater products, and livestock or poultry output. Crop production includes
vegetables, corn, root crops, coffe and rice. The major plantation of
pineapples by the Del Monte Philippines, Inc. The province is compared to
Baguio City with its low temperature ranging from 20-30 degrees Celsius,
because of that it is called the ‘’little Baguio’’ of Misamis Oriental. The said
Barangay is also known as the wealthy barangay when it comes to chayote
and rose.

Research Design
Instrument Used
First step: A permission letter addressing to the School Head secured for the
approval of the research that will be conducted.
Third step: Prepare the materials used such as plot, Cucumber seeds,
Fermented Plant Juice (FPJ), Scaling and weighing apparatus and plastic cup
for measuring the amount of fertilizer to be used.
15
Fourth step: Start to plant the Ccumber. The plot prepared with the
measurement of 1 to 5 meter. The 30 pechay planted using a bolo in the plot.
Plant spacing will be 20 cm between plants 20 cm between row.
Fifth step: The plants were fertilized by drenching using a plastic cup per plant
once in a week within 50 to 60 days.

SUMMARY
21
This chapter presents the summary of the results, conclusions and
provides recommendation for further study. This study was conducted to
determine the yield performance of Cucumber (Cucumis Sativus) using
varying level of C2 Fermented Plant Juice (FPJ).
CONCLUSION
Based on the study, the researchers found out that the yield performance
of Cucumber that has average weight of 106 grams and its standard deviation
is 19.553 grams. The study found out that the amount of C2 Fermented Plant
Juice as Liquid Fertilizer affect the yield performance of Cucumber. The the
proved that the study is accurate and reliable through its average weight and
standard deviation results.

Dear Ma’am,
Greetings!
We, the grade 12 students would like to ask from your good office a permission to conduct a
study in their Inquires Investigation Immersion.
There are twelve (12) groups in Grade 12 class and each group has different topics to be
conducted. Our research objectives are:
■ Determine the C2 Fermented Plant Juice affect the yield performance of of cucumber
■ Determine the weight of cucumber using C2 Fermented Plant Juice
The title of this research is Yield Performance of of Cucumber (Cucumis Sativus) Using C2
Fermented Plant Juice
Below are the list of the students for the research team:
1. Nissa F. Fruta
2. Nel-an T. Acapulco
3. Reymark Galendez
4. Raymond P. Llemit
Your suggestions and corrections are highly appreciated for the success of the research
requirement of the Mat-i, Grade 12 students.
Respectfully yours,
