I. ORIGIN & DEFINITION


 The term HYPERTEXT was coined by Ted
Nelson in 1963 and defined hypertext as a
series of chunks connected by links that offer
readers different pathways.

I. ORIGIN & DEFINITION


 INTERTEXT- is derived from the LATIN term
“intertexto” which means to intermingle while
weaving.
 INTERTEXT was first used by French
philosopher Julia Kristeva in the 1960’s.
 HYPERTEXT-is a nonlinear way to present  INTERTEXTUALITY is the shaping of a text
information and is usually accomplish using meaning by another text.
“links”.  A literary work is not simply the product of a
single author, but of its relationship to other
texts.

II. TYPES OF INTERTEXTUALITY


1. ALLUSION- an expression that calls attention to
something without explicitly mentioning it.
2. PARODY- is an imitation of an existing original
work that is deliberately exaggerated to create a
comedic effect.
3. PASTICHE- borrows elements from one or more
words and reconfigures them to create
something new.
4. QUOTATION- is the method of directly lifting the
exact statements or set of words from a text
another author has made.
