Material Requirements and Specifications

The following are the materials used in constructing the Development of Solar-

Powered Arduino-Based Wireless Sensor Network Technology with Automated Alert

System to Measure the Level of Temperature in Taal Lake:

 Submersible Temperature Sensor

(Patanong ano brand tas palaay ng specifications dito)

 Microcontroller

The microcontroller to be used in this study is an Arduino Uno R3 ATmega2560. It

has an operational voltage of 7 to 12 volts programmed and activated by C or C++

languages. It can support ISP download function. Specifically, it has 14 input and output

pins that can collect the data from the sensor and initialize the alarm system. (Pakipaltan

naman nung about sa Arduino MEGA2560)

 GSM Module

This is used to form a communication between a GSM or GPRS system and a

mobile device.  A GSM digitizes and decreases the data, then sends it down through a

channel with two different streams of client data, each in its own specific time slot. In this

study, SIM800L Wireless GPRS GSM SIM Board will be used for it can transmit Voice,

SMS and data information with low power. This SIM800L module has a set of TTL

(transistor-transistor logic) level serial interface, a set of power supply interface. Besides,

there are a set of antenna interface on this module. It can operate at a voltage of 5V and

supports Quad-band of 850/900/1800/1900MHz.

 LED Lights

This is an electronic component that produces visible light when electric current is

present. Red, Green and Yellow LED lights will be installed in the prototype. This light
will indicate that whether there is an occurring abnormality on the water quality of the

lake or none. (Hingin nalang yung specs nung ginamit na ilaw, sankyu)

 Alarm Device

This device will produce sound or loud noise to alert those nearby of whichever

purpose it was set to do. In this case, it will alert the surroundings regarding unusual

changes in the water quality of the lake.

 Rechargeable Battery

It is also known as secondary cell. It is a type of electrical battery which can be

charged, discharged into a load, and recharged many times. (Add infos for battery 40AH

12V)

 Motor Oxygen
Water aeration is the mechanism to raise or preserve the oxygen content in water in

both natural and artificial setting. (ADD INFOS)

 6c-Relaybrd

The relay board activates the shifting procedures of electronic devices. It is composed of

a regulatory circuit, power supply circuit, and relays needed to turn the d evice on and

off.

 Solar Panel

This converts the light energy that comes from the sun called “photon”, into electric

energy that can power electrical loads. The required power rating of the solar panel to be

used for the whole is set to be 1000W. This panel has a working voltage of 18V-24V and

has an overvoltage protection of 15.5V. (Pa-clarify kung ano rating nung panel)

 Buck Converter

Since the microcontroller only needs a low voltage to operate, this device will step

down the DC voltage coming from either the solar charge controller powered by the

photovoltaic cells or from the rechargeable battery. The LM2596 Buck Converter will be

used for the project for it has a short-circuit protection. The input voltage of this converter

ranges from 4V to 35V and it can create an output voltage of 1.23V up to 30V. It has

maximum current of 3A and a heatsink. (paalam kung anong voltage regulator yung

ginamit)

 Charge Controller

This is an electrical device that is designed to maintain a suitable voltage output.

For this study, a 30A & 12V/24V Solar Charge Controller will be used to sustain the

energy produced from the solar panels by photovoltaic effect. It auto-detects its rated

voltage either 12 volts or 24 volts. (paalam rating nung charge controller tas include dito)
