Chapter 6: Essay
1. Discuss the curricular reforms in the K to 12 curriculum?

Answer: The K-12 enhances mandatory education to grades 11 and 12, which tends to add
two more years to secondary school. Its sole purpose is to catch up to the global
standards in secondary education. The education system's structure, curricula, and
philosophy were reformed and improved. The key points of the reform are the
"preparation" for higher education, "eligibility" for entering domestic and overseas
higher educational institutions, and immediate "employability" on graduating, all leading
toward a "holistically developed Filipino".

2. Discuss OBE - Outcomes-Based-Education as Enhanced Teacher education Curriculum

Answer: Outcome-based education (OBE) establishes a clear expectation of the best

results. Students will know what to expect, and teachers will know what they must show
throughout the class. In OBE, instructors will analyze the results a student has achieved
and the areas in which they have improved to analyze the strengths and provide
individual assistance and guidance to meet their expectations. Participation of students
in an institution is also an essential part of OBE. Students will try to teach themselves
how to measure themselves so that they fully understand the lessons na tinuro.
Increased student involvement allows students to feel responsible for their own learning
and to believe that they will learn a lot from this individual learning.
