2. Discuss nursing strategies on how to prevent medication error by considering
the following concepts. Cite samples.

2.1 Prescribing

Know the various risks and causes for medication errors

- As Soon as a nurse we should always check the medication, their risk,


adverse effect, so that we can educate the patient.

Find out what drug you're taking and what it is for

- Giving a medication we should know what drug were given, and it's
purpose of giving it to the patient.

Find out how to take the drug and make sure you understand the
directions

- Giving the drug we learn that how the drug going to take, also we
should know when or what time should give it to the patient for them to take
this.

Check the container's label every time you take a drug

- In taking a drug we should always check the name or the label of a


container, to ensure that the drug that were going to take is right.

2.2 Dispensing

* In this we should always check the prescription of the physician,


because there's sometimes changes in the dose, prescription in the patient.

2.3 Administration
* Recheck the medication that going to be administered in the patient, it's
very risky if a nurse administered a wrong medication it might cause suffer in
the patient .

2.4 Monitoring

* Monitoring is very important role of a nurse, it always need to monitor


a patients response to a treatment, also it includes the monitoring of physical
and emotional, and identify patterns and trends.
