GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR

Gender and development aim to address various issues regarding how

men and women are perceived in different aspects of our lives. In truth,
different notions are associated with each gender causing situational
troubles like gender stereotyping and inequality. As this pandemic
caused huge challenge towards each of us, it also caused challenges
among genders not just in the community but in different workplaces
as well. This year’s gender and development seminar aims to increase
awareness on sex disaggregated data that are used in the planning,
implementation and monitoring of Deped programs, projects and
activities in view of this Covid-19 situation. it also focuses on improving
capacities of coordinators to execute Gender and Development
programs in different communication platforms. Lastly, it aims to
generate gender health advocacies, protective equipment and
measures in Deped offices for Covid-19 prevention and mitigation.
Through these goals, the need to disseminate and advocate Gender
programs are clearly given emphasis specially during this time that the
threat of COVID-19 is present. This is a challenge that we all should
take for a quality education on both sides of the learners and us as
teachers.
