Abstract :
This project aims to develop a smart parking system using
Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system will consist of
sensors placed in each parking slot that detect the presence of a
vehicle and communicate the information to a central server. A
mobile app will be developed to allow users to view the status of
each parking slot in real-time and reserve a spot if desired. The
goal of the project is to improve the efficiency and convenience
of parking by reducing the time and effort required to find a
parking spot. The system will use the Nodemcu ESP8266 Wifi
module and Blynk app to monitor and control the LED widgets.
The LED widgets will indicate the availability of parking spaces
and the Blynk app will provide a graphical user interface for the
users to check the availability of parking spaces.

Literature Review:

a) "Smart Parking System Using IoT" by Arulmozhi G. and K. P.

Suresh (2017) - In this research paper, the authors proposed a
smart parking system that uses IoT technology to detect the
availability of parking spaces. The system uses a combination of
ultrasonic sensors and microcontrollers to detect the presence
of cars and communicate this information to a centralized
server. The authors achieved an accuracy rate of 96% in
detecting the presence of cars.
b) "Smart Parking System using IOT and RFID" by Deepak R.
Wadnerkar and Mayur D. Jadhav (2018) - In this research paper,
the authors proposed a smart parking system that uses IoT and
RFID technology. The system uses RFID tags to identify cars and
IoT devices to communicate the availability of parking spaces to
the driver's mobile device. The authors achieved a 95% accuracy
rate in detecting the availability of parking spaces.a) "Smart Car
Parking System using IoT" by S. Nandhini and M. Suresh,
published in 2018. This research work proposed a smart car
parking system using the IoT technology. The system used an
ESP8266 wifi module, a NodeMCU board, and an Ultrasonic
sensor to detect the availability of parking spaces. The drawback
of this system was that it lacked a user-friendly interface.
c) "An IoT Based Smart Parking System" by S. K. Shukla, A. Kumar,
and S. R. Mishra, published in 2018. This research work proposed
an IoT based smart parking system that used a Raspberry Pi, an
ESP8266 wifi module, and a PIR sensor to detect the availability
of parking spaces. The system also used an LED to indicate the
availability of parking spaces. The drawback of this system was
that it lacked real-time information about the availability of
parking spaces.
d) "Smart Parking System using IoT" by P. K. Sahu, R. K. Jain, and
A. Kumar, published in 2019. This research work proposed a
smart parking system using the IoT technology. The system used
an ESP8266 wifi module, a NodeMCU board, and an Ultrasonic
sensor to detect the availability of parking spaces. The system
also used a Blynk app to provide a graphical user interface for
the users to check the availability of parking spaces.
e) "IoT-Based Smart Parking System" by Jian J. Lee, Ching-Yao T.
Chang and Y. H. Chen (2017) - In this research paper, the authors
proposed an IoT-based smart parking system that uses a
combination of sensors, microcontrollers and mobile devices to
detect the availability of parking spaces. The authors achieved a
92% accuracy rate in detecting the availability of parking spaces.

Proposed Methodology:

The proposed methodology of the IoT Car Parking System project

includes the following steps:
Hardware Requirements: The hardware requirements for the
IoT Car Parking System project include the Nodemcu ESP8266
Wifi module, a NodeMCU board, LED widgets, and an
Ultrasonic sensor.
Workflow: The workflow of the IoT Car Parking System project
includes the following steps:
 Detecting the availability of parking spaces using the
Ultrasonic sensor.
 Sending the data to the Nodemcu ESP8266 Wifi module.
 Controlling the LED widgets to indicate the availability of
parking spaces.
 Providing a graphical user interface for the users to check
the availability of parking spaces using the Blynk app.
 c) Protocol: The IoT Car Parking System project will use the
MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) protocol to
send and receive data between the Nodemcu ESP8266 Wifi
module and the Blynk app.
