PREAMBLE warning

This document contains the necessary informations about the genset conduct equipped, having a
control panel type PSC-M. Before deployment of the genset (from now on G.E. or car) is absolutely
necessary that the user reads carefully this document, in addition to the general manual education of
generator, making sure at the same time that the G. E. has been installed with a perfect down to a
fine art, by specialized operators and it’s could be in perfect efficiency.
This document must necessarily accompany the G. E. in all his movements and / or property
transaction.
Failure to comply with the recommendation may generate damaged to the equipment and serious
damages to people, things and domestic pets.

CAUTIONS danger

The electrical control panel which refers this manual is conforming to all the safety standards and
technical laws the reference applicable.
It’s absolutely forbidden to remove panels, repairs and protections of which has the control panel as
a whole. The access within the framework is only allowed to an expert and endowed operator.
However such access must be made only under conditions of stop machine and after having been
responsible for cutting upstream supply line of monitoring tension circuits of net and services G. E.

USER

This manual is doomed at the operator daily uses the genset . The informations contained in this
document will allow the operator to be able to perform simple procedures whose purpose is to allow
the use of gensets and its monitoring. The level of informations contained in the document not is
able to carry out a systematic analysis of any busts with consequential resolution of them.

FACTORY SETTING

The control panel is furnished with the values of mechanical and electrical parameters set at the
factory.
It’s prohibited alter the layed set point, if not against explicit and written permission given by
Ausonia, Inc. Any tampering or arbitrary variation can generate damages to the machine and
damaged people, things and domestic pets.

Functions of display

The display shows the readings of electrical and mechanical size, the alarms, the list of events and
some programmable parameters. The letter G indicates the values for the G.E., while the letter R
indicates values relating to the electricity grid. Here are illustrated the pages viewed on the display,

3. DESCRIPTION OF OPERATING MODE

Manual

This provision takes away, the logic of the G.E, the decision power of control panel. They are
therefore entitled commands relating to:

- START
- STOP
- TLG ON/OFF
- TLR ON/OFF

In MANUAL function, at logic remains duties of supervision of the group on possible wrong
manoeuvres of the operator, and the LCD display of all sizes controlled and automatic stoppage for
failure in case of need.
In Manual are handled also the following functions:
- Inhibition button starter, if the group is in action;
- Inhibition button breakers closure or G.E. switch side, until the parameters of that are
out of nominal bounds;
- Opening of automatic breakers machine or relative switch in case of button stop
driving;
- Inhibition at the contemporary closure of main switch and group, regardless from
existing mechanical lock.

Automatic

This provision allows the management fully automatic G.E., when used in reserve on the public
network.
The logic makes constantly monitoring the network’s voltage on three stages. In case of anomaly,
such as the absence of one or more stages or variation of the limits set (± 10%), however adjustable,
logic will disable switch network and to trigger the start of the sequence generator.
With group in motion is tracked the state of operation and displayed on display various information,
as described in the preceding paragraphs. Upon attainment of the nominal value of voltage and
frequency, is commanded the closure of switch group.
During operation of the group are controlled:
- The parameters of the diesel engine to detect any malfunctions of mechanical nature;
- The core network, while awaiting the return of the value of tension within the limits
set;
- The parameters of G.E.. The same is stopped in the event of anomalies of operation.
The return of voltage within the limits nominal, are controlled opening switch group and then
closing the main switch.
The G.E. will continue to work an idle for a period programmable, to permit a gradual and effective
engine cooling.
If thought the cooling there is a network’s anomaly, the G.E. will relieve again the load, or, when
the cooling is finished, he will arrange oneself in STAND-BY, ready for a new starting.
Pushed the button STOP with genset in motion, the G.E. stops oneself and commutes in manual the
operation mode.
Test

This selection of operation allows to regularly checking the efficiency of the generator, without
disturbing the normal supply of energy network to the users.
It is obtained in that way, the automatic starting of GE and controls the efficient running of the
engine and the alternator for a period of 180 "(programmable). If during the test should verify an
anomaly on the network, the logic switch over the operation test in AUTOMATIC.
In this way the users would be fed regularly by the group and the return of the network, by the
latter.
If you want to end the phase of testing before the expiry of the time scheduled, simply press the
button to stop. This causes the immediate arrest of G. E. and the preparation in manual mode of
operation.
4. MANAGEMENT OF PUMPING GROUP

Generality

The command and control management of electric pump for the automatic supply of fuel allows
containing always the fuel inside G.E. service generator to an optimal level.
The logic of electronic type, produced within the PSC-M control unit, it ensures maximum
reliability and a very high MTBF.

Automatic

Through a commutator switch it’s possible choose the following modes of operation:

- OFF
- MANUAL
- AUTOMATIC

OFF

By putting in commutator switch at the position OFF (stable), the diesel fuel automatic supply in
the tank service isn’t active.

MANUAL

Putting the switch in MANUAL position (position unstable) with G. E. in action the electric pump
is powered until fuel, in tank service contained, not reaching the allowed maximum level.

AUTOMATIC

Putting the switch in AUTOMATIC position (stable) with G. E. in action it gets the diesel
automatic filling. This operation mode consent to contain the fuel, contained in the tank service,
automatically to an optimal level. When the level of fuel reaches the minimum (20%) is turned on
the electric pump, which is then turned off when the level of fuel reaches the maximum allowed
(80%).
SPIES AND REPORTS

The operation of automatic fuel supply is monitored with the help of the following spies and
records:

- Spy commutator switch: the spy in the commutator switch indicates that the
electro pump is active;
- Alarm filling fuel: this failure appears on the display is activated after 300" from
start command of electric pump, and indicates that the level of fuel in the tank G.E.
has not undergone any increase;
- Max level diesel: manual to automatic, when the electric pump continues to operate
and then sends fuel in the tank in service despite the level of that has reached the
maximum allowed it’s activated a failure alarm indicating the highest diesel level to
reaching 99% level. Such reporting blocked the electric pump functioning, while an
solenoid valve intercepts aspiration;
- Reserve fuel: means failure appears on the display indicates that the level of G. E.
fuel is below the 15% of tank service. The cause of this failure can be attributed to
positioning in OFF commutator switch operations modes of diesel filling;
- End diesel: This failure appears on the display indicates that the level of G. E. fuel
is below the 10% of tank service and determines the G. E. arrest.
