The document discusses poverty in the Philippines and its root causes. It argues that feudalism has been a major factor perpetuating poverty in the country. Under feudal systems of government, the elite had control over resources and power, giving little opportunity to the majority of people. This created an imbalance that allowed the elite to take advantage of the poor. Countless problems have arisen from the prevailing poverty. The document calls for continuing the struggle for social justice, democracy in the workplace, and cancelling out the colonial mentality in order to address poverty in the Philippines.

Mr. Bonifacio S. Macaranas has illustrated poverty being the big
problems among the Filipino people who are suffering from hunger and not being able to eat a proper meal in a day in their lives. And from his article “Feudalism System and Poverty: The Philippine Experience”, Philippines is listed in some of the poorest countries in Asia, which is considered a hindrance of the Philippines to grow as a country. And from this article the author listed the different culprit’s in the prevailing down fall living of the Filipino people caused by one of the remains of the different countries whom colonized Philippines in the past. In addition, Feudalism is the one of the author that describing to its topic which is big factor or cause in the continuing poverty of the Philippines because of its feudalistic ruling in its government. And considered the topics such as industrial relations, feudal works relations, historical roots of feudalism, the American regime, and The Feudalism under the Philippine Presidents. I am very well amazed to the author for presenting a very vague detail about the difficulties of the Filipino people because of the continues no change of down fall living cause of poverty in the Philippines. And I’m able to read and learn the reasons why poverty is a problem in the Philippines, for the reason that feudalism had played a big factor in controlling the governing of the Philippines which made an unbalanced and wrongful ruling to the Filipino people, that has continued to give higher people to control the demands giving the mostly little things to the poor people. The fact that they can take all and take advantage of the poor, needless to say that they can give the equal amount or help the poor to cancel out the presence of poverty in the country. Countless problems arise because of poverty making Philippines listed some of the poorest countries in Asia and even in the world. According to The Asian Development Bank (ADB) governance and institutional constraints remain in the poverty response, there is weak local government capacity for implementing poverty reduction programs, which we can see from here that in the government there is no strategy or lacking of coordination in countering poverty in the Philippines. Nevertheless, aristocrat and big land ownership enjoys their power and controlling the overall resources giving limited opportunities to the majority of people which has overly cause them to live a standard style of living. I agree to the author that Filipinos must continue the struggle for social justice, industrial democracy, industrial productivity, industrial peace and industrial growth in workplace all over the country. We must cancel or forget our colonial history and the colonial mentality that we learned and the feudalistic way of governing that give the down ward living of the Filipino giving the elites to control and empower their selves and forgets the lower majority of poorer Filipino people, that’s why we must change and continue the struggle for social justice for the beloved country of the Philippines to stand up and cancel out poverty in the country.
