II. SUMMARY

The purpose of this research is to characterize the most common concepts and
frameworks for community organization among indigenous people. It specifically tries
to suggest a culturally sensitive and acceptable community organizing technique for
indigenous people in geographically isolated and disadvantaged parts of the
Philippines. The Critical Appraisal Skills Program (CASP) checklist was used to assess the
quality of the included research, and narrative synthesis was used to summarize and
report the findings. Based on the evidence, the proposed approach builds on
Groundwork, Indigenous Capacity Building, Community Participation and Ownership,
Mobilization, and Sustainability. They emphasize the importance of tapping indigenous
knowledge and using Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation to include people in all
stages of planning and decision-making. They also extract tools and approaches that
might help to develop and accelerate effective community organizing efforts.

III. NURSING IMPLICATIONS

A. To Nursing Practice

The paper makes a significant contribution to nursing practice by directing

community organizers to use an effective community organizing strategy that is
culturally sensitive and acceptable to the indigenous people in the community when
doing community organizing. Groundwork, Indigenous Capacity Building, Community
Participation and Ownership, Mobilization, and Sustainability are the framework for the
asset-based technique in community organizing designed to empower the community
through collective involvement and control over their own resources. This will guide the
community organizers to establish a community-based system that maximizes
participation and cultural empowerment while maintaining cultural purity.

B. To Nursing Education

This study provides actual evidence by thoroughly outlining how to properly

conduct community organizing while honoring Indigenous people's cultural purity and
independence in order to foster healthy and productive community partnerships. It was
also highlighted why the original community organizing technique gained complaints
from the IP because the Indigenous Planning Framework has a broad reach and uses a
needs-based approach that focuses mostly on the community's shortfall. Although the
IP's concerns are considered when looking for new prospects, the problem-based
approach has a tendency to overstate what the community lacks in order to attract
outside assistance. This could have an effect on program execution and sustainability,
especially if the problems have already been resolved or the organizers have attained
their goals. As a result, the researchers called for an asset-based strategy in community
organizing procedures to empower communities through collective participation and
give them ownership over their own resources. With this in mind, community health-
based professionals learn how to integrate themselves into the community and how to
successfully lead the community in meeting their own needs while protecting their
customs and traditions.

C. To Nursing Research

Testing the framework on indigenous communities in the Philippines is advised to

evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed community organizing methodology. The
proposed approach is not intended to be a cure or a replacement for the existing
community organizing process; rather, it is advised that it be tested on existing
government or non-governmental organization programs. Because of the complexities
of community organizing in indigenous communities, this should be validated at the
community level by IP organizers and researchers who work directly with the
community. Because the findings on the general population may not always
adequately reflect indigenous groups due to their particular social patterns, needs
analysis and original data collection are highly recommended. The suggested protocol
should be implemented in close collaboration with the National Commission on
Indigenous Peoples at the national and municipal levels, while also ensuring that IPRA's
four bundles of rights are met (Right to Ancestral Domains and Lands, Right to Self-
Governance and Empowerment, Right to Social Justice and Human Rights, and Right
to Cultural Integrity).

IV. PERSONAL INSIGHTS

By reading this article, I understood that the effectiveness of the Indigenous
Planning Framework that was presented to us cannot be refuted because it truly
responds to the requirements of the community, especially in a limited span of time, as
we operate with limited resources and often lack time. However, based on what I've
learned from this study, the proposed framework is more effective in community
organizing because it focuses on supporting and guiding the IP in the community by
respecting their culture and giving them ownership in working on themselves to
develop their independence.
