CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

The Earth’s climate has changed several times throughout history.

According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), there
have been seven cycles of warming and cooling in the last 650,000 years. These
earlier cycles occurred naturally as a result of changes in the atmosphere. In
contrast, nearly all climate scientists agree that the climate changes we are seeing
today are caused by human activities, especially transportation; deforestation and
industrialization, and these activities are having serious negative effects on our
planet.
It is clear that human activities have caused global warming in many ways.
First, the transport sector is one of the highest producers of greenhouse gas
emissions. The vehicles such as cars, motorbikes… burning fossil fuels to operate
release a number of greenhouse gas including carbon dioxide. And we can easily
see that the number of the vehicles is increased every single day because of the
demand of people. They are harmful to the atmosphere and make the air
gradually pollutant. Nowadays more and more cities are being warned due to the
quality of the atmosphere, and Hanoi is one of those. Beside those smoke also
raises the temperature of the earth.
Second, deforestation also contributes to the global warming. Forests,
which cover almost one-third of the surface of the Earth, produce oxygen and
provide homes to plants, animals and humans. Despite their importance to
biology, the destruction of forest occurs regularly. Many trees were cut down for
these two mainly reasons: trees are used as fuel or for construction and cleared
land is used as pasture for animal and fields for planting food. The main harmful
of deforestation are climate change. Because tropical rainforests help control the
Earth’s temperature by absorbing carbon dioxide. If the destruction of forest
occurs, the carbon dioxide goes into the atmosphere and traps heat. The result is
climate change.
And last but not least, the industrialization also leads to the climate change.
This day, the process of industrialization happens quicker and more extensive all
around the world. Beside the advantages that we take of, we have to get many
negative effects from it. More and more factories, houses, … were and are built
up frequently. That’s means more and more smokes, toxins, pollutants are
eliminated, which the air, water, soil are polluted. It will make the climate change
– global warming occur faster.
To conclude, human activity is clearly causing the climate to change and, as a
result, the planet is experiencing a number of negative effects. It is important that
we reduce our negative impact on the planet as much as possible – for example,
by using renewable energy instead of fossil fuels – before it is too late.

The first solution to the traffic problem is to build park-and-ride bus system.
Compare to cycling, it is much quicker and more convenient. People would like it
more than cycling. When move by park-and-ride bus system, this action will
improve the quality of atmosphere. Because if more people choose park-and-ride
bus system, that’s mean the number of vehicles on the street will decrease
significantly. Therefore, the greenhouse gas, especially carbon dioxide will also
reduce. Besides the advantages of park-and-ride bus system, there are some
disadvantages about it. Park-and-ride bus system is designed to keep people from
driving their own vehicles in center. But the problem is getting to the center, most
people don’t like buses because of their size. Nearly all buses are very big, so
when moving in center, the bus will easily get stuck in congestion. Moreover, the
cost of park-and-ride bus system is quite high, about $2 million and take a year to
implement.
Another solution to the traffic problem is ferry. A ferry carries people, and
sometimes cars, over water between two or more places. Due to those benefit,
people could drive their cars on to the ferry, which will reduce road traffic. The
demand of building new road or bridge will decrease. ferries help the
environment by keeping hundreds of cars and trucks off the roads. However, few
countries can take action this solution. First, the number of ferries now is limited
so the time people can transport by ferry is not very frequent. Second, like the
park-and-ride bus system, ferry is fairly expensive to build, about $2,5 million.
And it will take a while to build a port.

 We all know that health is important to live life to the fullest. When a
person leads to a healthy lifestyle, the body remains healthy and the mind active
and fresh. And one of the most effective ways to improve our health is to take
exercise. When we’re small, we’re very active and always in motion. But time’s
gone, most of people don’t really pay attention to it. For example, when we were
in secondary school, most of us enjoyed P.E class. However, at this moment, I sure
that almost students at colleges and universities might feel annoyed with it. In my
opinion, colleges and universities should require students to take physical
education classes.

Exercises improve students’ physical and mental health. First, exercise

decreases stress. Studies show that when we’re stress, our muscles may be tense,
especially in face, neck, and shoulders, leaving us with back or neck pain, or
painful headaches. We may feel a tightness in our chest, a pounding pulse, or
muscle cramps. We may also experience problems such as insomnia, heartburn,
stomachache, … The worry and discomfort of all these physical symptoms can in
turn lead to even more stress, creating a vicious cycle between our mind and
body. As I have known, exercising is an effective way to break this cycle. As well as
releasing endorphins in the brain, physical activity helps to relax the muscles and
relieve tension in the body. Since the body and mind are so closely linked, when
our body feels better so, too, will our mind. And when we have a good physical
and mental health, it can benefit our studies.

Second, exercises will encourage all students to pursue a healthy lifestyle.

Some people feel that education at the university level should only be focused on
which major, or course of education, the individual chooses to pursue. However,
health and physical education is extremely important and should be instilled no
matter what they choose to study. At university, students are beginning to make
important decisions that will guide them the rest of their lives. Instilling an
importance on fitness and overall health is crucial at this education level to
encourage students to pursue a healthier lifestyle from this point forward.
Through time, I believe that we – students will see the benefit exercises brings to
us and understand that health is more important than anything. Therefore, beside
P.E classes, we should take other exercises and remain a healthy lifestyle with
exercising even when there’s no more P.E classes.

There are plenty of reasons why colleges and universities should require
students to take physical education classes. But I think two reasons are convincing
enough to explain. Therefore, as a student at university, I understand the
importance and necessity of exercise especially P.E classes

After the development of the technology, a lot of revolutionary creations has

been invented by human. No one can deny the impact of the technology to
people all around the world. The invention of the mobile phone has undoubtedly
revolutionized the way people communicate and influenced every aspect of our
lives. And the tablet computers – an incredible creation are the continuation of
mobile phone. Tablet computer, computer that is intermediate in size between a
laptop computer and a smartphone. Early tablet computers used either a
keyboard or a stylus to input information, but these methods were subsequently
displaced by touch screens. The tablet computer has plenty of benefits to our live,
however, there are some disadvantages of it.
First, about the pros of tablet computers. They’re extra portable, with
just as much storage. Tablet computers are smaller and lighter than laptop
computers, making them easy to manage and carry around, especially for
younger children. It feels more like carrying a book or a large smartphone
than a computer. They can be used like traditional computers. With the
addition of a keyboard and mouse, tablets can easily convert to a traditional
computing setup. Students can do everything they’d do on a laptop or desktop
computer, including type essays and create slideshow presentations. Besides, the
tablet computers have great battery life and can last up to 10 hours on a single
charge. This means we don’t have to worry about our laptop running out of
power while working on it. They can save on more electricity than other
electronics.
Despite those excellent benefits, the tablet computers also have some
disadvantages. First, tablets are still more expensive than traditional
computers. When we purchase a tablet, the cost is often high. So not all people
can afford it. Second, the screen size is small then laptop. Tablets offer
touchscreen technology, which is great for mobility and portability. But
sometimes it can be difficult to type on them because the screen is small. If we’re
used to using a traditional keyboard and mouse, tablets can be hard to use
because our fingers cover much of the screen. Or they are too small for working
on multiple documents. Final, tablet computers are uncomfortable to use for long
periods of time.
Inconclusion, A tablet can be used anywhere where there is an internet
connection, but it's less practical in some settings. There are many advantages to
using tablet computers, but there are disadvantages too!
