1. Definition
A personal letter or a friendly letter is a type of letter which concerns personal
matters.
2. Social functions
To give the information by exchanging personal information to the recipient

 Focus on exchanging personal current news, feelings, and conditions

used)

Learning Activity 2 : Invitations

1. Definition
An invitation letter is a document that presents a formal request for the presence of
an individual, a group of people or an organization at an event.
Invitations are used in formal and informal ways. it can be used in spoken and
written ways.
The expressions are different from each other. when you speak in formal ways you
can use :
“ would you like to come … ?”
“ could you like to come … ?”

To invite someone/ people / a group to come at an event

1. Definition
An announcement is a statement made to the public or to the media which give
information about something that has happened or that will happen.

1. Definition

advertising) is a means of communication with the users of a product or service.
