Song analysis

“Somebody Else” explores the com-

plicated feelings stirred by a past
Chosen song lover taking up with someone new.
‘‘Somebody Else’’ the song means to imply that one
must love themselves first before
loving someone else.
A song by English rock band from The
1975 from their second studio album, I
Like It When You Sleep, for You Are
So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It
(2016).

Chosing a song connected to Tib

Street was a simple step. Firstly they
are from Manchester and they connect
every song to it, secondly the street
was full of Bars, bakeries, sex shops,
corsets, nightlife which connect to the
lyrics of The 1975 songs.
Shape Evolution

Forming the shape was a simple procces with a well pleased

ending. I decided to use thin paper because it was easy and fast to
work with. Tried with many shapes, such as organic ones, however i
decided to work with geometric form because i wanted my chamber to
connect with the surrounding buildings.

The middle part of the ceiling is the mirror design of the floor trajectory,
while the longitudinal sides of the object are coated with perforated triangular
prisms alternately placed to obtain acoustic resonance boxes

In the construction that carries the
floor glass, the electrical installations
of the building are located. There are
also flashing elements that emit light
from the floor to the ceiling.
Window openings starting from the ground
elevation ‘0’ and extending to the slanting
parts (45) of the side longitudinal walls are
a source of daylight
FABRICATE
 PHOTO ESSAY

I used White Card board ( Foam board ) which was 3mm thick. Firstly I cut the floor I couldn’t find a black acetate that I can use to represent the black windows so I
and the side walls together and removed the foam from the side windows. Secondly bought a clear acetate sheet and painted it with transparent black paint.
I cut the right size of the roof. Next I measured the angle and trimmed the board
so I can bend it at the right angle.

I used tape to hold the side walls in place. Glued 4 mirrors on the side Glued a mirror at the end of the chamber because the song is focused on a person you love, and this is a contrast
of the walls. They are placed perfectly along the chamber so that the which emphasizes that you are alone, by youself in the end of everything,that we should stop looking happiness in
person would see his face. Therefore I put the back wall of the object. someone else.
I used jet black card to show the sound devices , each one in every corner.
I put a wall and a door on the front side and started trimming the top wall so it can perfectly fit in the object. I lifted the chamber so the person in it would have a wider range of
sight and see the movement of the people outside of it. Also added jet black cards to continue the ,,black keys from the piano’’ as I have made my chamber to look like piano from
the sides. That is connected with the song and genre where it is progressive rock, which means the keyboards are used and separated from the mainstream rock music

Cut the dimensions of the stairs and put them

together with the object and got the final look
of the Chamber of reflections.
STOPOVER
Site Analysis

There are two aspects why I

connect the parasite with the
railway line.

The railway line tangles the

street exactly in the position
where my object is located.
The other aspect is that
the level for which I fasten
(the crown of the building)
is on the same level with
the railway, which strongly
strengthens the concept of
“VISUAL STATION” for the
users of that alignment
HISTORY OF O2 RITZ
The 20’s
- Opens as a dance hall
the perfect place where lonely

a dance.

It is claimed that he invented disco at

the story acts as a key turning point
in the building’s significant shift from
dancehall to nightclub.
The 70’s and 80’s
-bringing many of the city’s
biggest movements  with the
All-Dayer parties.
-Jazz-Funk and Electro nights
to the venue
-The Ritz got overshadowed by
the small club called Hacienda
and as the whole Madchester
scene grew, The Ritz entered
a kind of purgatory – a place
that became known for its
Saturday ‘Grab a Granny’ nights.
The 90’s
-The Ritz pull in some huge
numbers of students and
alternative music fans
I thought about linking this to the Purpose of
the object which that is, its contents are histori-
cally consistent ... so I put it on the top of it as
a crown because I feel that his musical role now-
adays is very important for Manchester.
Wednesdays from the 70’s till 2007The
legendary Brutus Gold’s Love Train
-disco complete with sexy stage
performers, dance competitions and shit
loads of chest hair
In 2010 the place shut down until HMV 
bought it and reinvented as a primarily live
music venue, which it continues with to this
very day.

A 45 Cabin by Bjarke Ingels Group.
I was inspired by the shape of the 45 Cabin
house. A geometric form thrown into
natural topography.
In general, including not only relief but
also natural and artificial features, and
even local history and culture. In a way it
is also parasite but in the BIG case it is a
chameleon in nature. It receives the glare
of the trees in the elevated window
openings and the environment is reflected
in it.
Nature has always served as inspiration
for architects and designers.
Unlike its adaptability, my parasite is
arrogant and deliberately attacked in the
centre of that urban enviroment.
I wanted to project an object that is a
mirror on the Manchester music scene.
