For explanation about Carl’s FITT table: Carl is young and trying to be active. He states he
doesn’t really have goals per say however he wants to maintain his fitness level to perform his
current activities. I think keeping the intensity moderate will keep Carl from not getting
overwhelmed but also engaged and producing results. I want to keep the cardio fun and active
especially since Carl does a lot of this with friends and I want to make sure it keeps his attention
and motivation. Keeping the frequency, I made is important for Carl because more of an
aerobic approach seems suited for him and his lack of experience and motivation during muscle
strength and endurance exercising could affect his motivation. Simplicity and regularity will
help Carl stay on track. I think anything involving his friends like most of the cardio exercises as
well as partner stretching will help Carl keep a positive attitude and consistency. If Carl sticks to
this FITT spreadsheet he will meet the physical activity guidelines for adults (Department of
Health and Human Services, 2018).
