Course Description: Over 3 weeks this course will be discussing biological based
medicine, how biological based medicine fits into complementary and integrative
medicine, and how biological based practices are essential in the treatment of adult
autoimmune disease.
Course Outcomes: The course is designed to educate and empower individuals with
knowledge and understanding of specific biological based concepts and holistic
practices to approach medicine in a whole-body focus.
Week 1 Outcome: Participants have a general and adequate knowledge of
biological based practices and methods and how the food we consume is powerful
medicine.
Week 2 Outcome: Participants have a strong understanding of what holistic
medicine is and how biological based medicine s portioned in holistic care.
Week 3 Outcome: Participants will understand how biological based medicine I
used to treat and prevent autoimmune disorders and disease in adults.
Course Structure:
Week 1 Topic: “Food is Medicine”
Week 2 Topic: Holistic Medicine Approach
Week 3 Topic: Biological Based Medicine in Adult Autoimmune Disease
Course sessions will be delivered in a hybrid style: instructor led/PowerPoint/Video
presentations and small group focused sessions.
During the course there will be a knowledge-based trivia giveaways with prizes.
Recommended Materials: Material that are recommended for the course include laptop
computer for online resources, scratch paper/notebook for note taking, and pen or pencils.
