2. Midwife's Duties
In carrying out midwifery practice, midwives have various duties, including the
following:
Provide guidance, care and advice to adolescents, pregnant women with high
risk, mothers giving birth, postpartum mothers, breastfeeding mothers and mothers
during climacterium and menopause.
1) Help mothers who give birth and provide care for babies and school children.
2) Providing family planning services in order to create a healthy and prosperous small
family.
3) Carry out prevention and detection measures for infants and pre-school children.
4) Provide preventive measures and detection of the condition of mothers and children
under five whose health is impaired, as well as providing medical assistance as first
aid before further medical action is taken.
5) Guiding and training prospective midwives, shamans and health cadres within the
scope of midwifery services.
6) Reviewing midwifery service and care activities carried out for improvement and
improvement.
7) Motivate and mobilize the community, especially women, in order to realize the
health and welfare of midwives.
(2) Participate in teams to implement health programs and other sector programs in
their working areas by increasing the capacity of traditional birth attendants,
health cadres and other health workers under their guidance in their working
areas.
3) Role as educator
(1) Provide and provide health education to individuals, families, groups and
communities regarding the prevention of public health problems, especially those
related to maternal, child and family planning health.
(2) Train and guide cadres and traditional healers, including midwives and nursing
students in their area or workplace.
4) Program as researcher/investigator
Conducting investigations or applied research in the field of health both
independently and in groups.
