Propaganda can change people’s mind, that can change the historical events or
their lives. In history lesson we have heard about propaganda, but no one
understand, why people believe to stupid statements and in what ways, which
can lead to terrible consequences and left a bloody trail in the history of
humanity.
Let’s find out what propaganda is. Propaganda is the most of effective
manipulation. Most of politics, businessmen, education and many other spheres
use this very actively. The goal of this, is conveying ideas to people to big
auditory. Although, propaganda mostly have negatively context, nowadays,
propaganda is also having a positive idea.
By looking to history book, we can see, that the biggest propaganda was by
Hitler. Jews were one of the biggest part of population of Germany before the
Nazi Germany, Jews were friends and partners with German people. The phrase
"Don't let the Jews deceive you" suggested that any Jew always seeks to deceive
a German. But only we start to think a little about it, to recall personal
experience, in order to understand that this is not so.
Every company, politic and others use different ways and techniques to make
people believe it. Nowadays, representatives of companies and the state use
eleven techniques of propaganda. I will explain the most popular manipulations,
which you may have been seen in daily life in advertising or by celebrities’
speech.
First of all, is herd mentality. I think, that is the most popular technic. Let’s
figure out what exactly it is. This technique is tightly tied to our primitive
instinct - if everyone does it, then it's right. For example, the creator of a
business training may say that more than 10,000 people have completed his
course and 60% of them now have their own business. Oh yes, and be sure to
remind that the number of places is limited.
Second one is the expert mind. All of us have already seen, that some
bloggers or any celebrities make advertisement of any products, so this is one of
the techniques of propaganda. It definitely works, because the person is the
authority of his auditory. As example, I can provide the words of our parents,
which we believe to, because they are authority for us.
All of us have fears and the propagandists are knowing and using it for their
benefit. So, this one of the most popular manipulations that named as
«Manipulation of fears». It is based on the primitive fears of people. In instance,
the case of business trainings, where one can play on the feeling of fear of
poverty: as often as possible, show and talk about how terrible it is to be poor
and what problems such people have. As a rule, they also have opposite of the
previous manipulation, that named as «Desire manipulation». Here,
manipulation is tied to our desires and needs. For example, most of us want to
become financially independent, achieve success and recognition. Business
coaches also actively use this. They show a beautiful life on Instagram, thereby
creating an association: “If you do business, you will live the same way.”
To conclude, this essay has discussed the techniques of manipulations, that we
often see in internet or hear from other. So, now we know why people believe to
it. As we can see people can be very easily manipulate by other people and that
can lead as positive consequences and also to negative consequences.
