Assignment#1: Leadership Skills Analysis INDIVIDUAL

This assignment will help you increase your level of self-awareness and the way you lead as well as
develop your critical thinking skills, both of which are essential components of leadership. You will be
required to choose ONE of the tests suggested by the professor and write a reflective essay based on the
results you receive.

Here are some of the aspects you might address in your essay:

 Was there any new/revealing information in the test results?


 What are key strengths and weaknesses associated with your leadership style? Were you aware
of them before?
 Recall: 1) some of your previous achievements caused by successful usage of these strengths;
2) some problematic situations you faced, which occurred due to these weaknesses
 How can you further capitalize on your strengths and compensate for your weaknesses in
future?
 What ways of communicating with others work best for you? Why?
 What are typical occupations and career paths associated with your leadership style? Have you
been pursuing one of them already? Would you like to change your career path if you are given
a chance?
 What leadership styles fit you best? How often have you used them so far? What specific actions
might help you further develop leadership styles and techniques most suitable for you?
 How did this test increase your level of self-awareness? What kinds of fresh perspective did you
get about your leadership style?
 How can you use these ideas in your future life planning? Specifically, in setting career goals?

IMPORTANT: you must write a succinct and accurate essay, do NOT use questions and answers format.
Ensure that results of the test are thoroughly evaluated.

Requirements:

Paper must exhibit good writing and analytical skills, appropriate for an MBA level. MINIMUM word
count requirements are: 3000 words to be considered for a C grade; words to be considered for A and B
grades.

 Paper must contain the following sections: introduction, main body, and action plan, conclusion
 Evaluation of test results, reflection on your experience, and future action plans must be well
aligned with one another using course material
 Paper should employ at least 6-8 relevant citations from the textbook and other sources
 You should not re-write or quote test results; instead, use them in your analysis and refer to
particular parts wherever it is necessary
 Paper must be submitted via Turnitin timely; late submissions are penalized by 10% per day.
 This assignment holds a value of 20% of your final grade.

If you experience some extraordinary circumstances which affect your ability to complete the
assignment on time, e.g., medical emergency, you should request an extension before the due date,
providing supporting documentation

Before you start working on your assignment, ensure that you have paid attention to the rubric below,
listened to the in-class explanations and looked at benchmark essay examples, provided by the
professor.
