How to use Sonatina VST (Sonatina Symphony Orchestra VST) with

Cakewalk by Bandlab - I

A- Download and Installation of VST and importing of MIDI file

1- You have to download Sonatina VST for Windows from

http://www.mediafire.com/file/6i8fc707e67o6bl/Sonatina_Orchestra_Module_-_64.zip/file

2- Unzip the Sonatina_Orchestra_Module_-_64.

Sonatina Orchestra.dll
Sonatina Orchestra.instruments

3- Copy them into:

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VstPlugins

4- Start Cakewalk from the Windows shortcut.

5- UtilitiesCakwalk Plug-in ManagerScan VST Plug-ins

6- Select VST-instruments under Plug-in Categories (left most upper column)

7- See ‘Sonatina Orchest’ under Registered Plug-ins (second from left column)

8- Clicking on a MIDI files imports automatically all the tracks available in the MIDI file.
The output looks like this:
9- 10 tracks are imported from MID file. MIDI file is created using MuseSCORE and exporting as mid. File.
10- ViewsConsole View
11- Cakewalk automaticly opens adds the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth to each track.
12- You can play the MIDI tracks now with the Play button at the top.
B- Adding a synthesizer track.
1- InsertSoftsynthCakewalk TTS-1
1- InsertSoftSynthCakewalk TTS-1
2- Sonatina TTS-1 Softsynth is Cakewalk’s builtin available softsynth. It can play 16 seperate tracks from a single instance of it.
3- The result is as follows. You can play all the tracks with no problem. But the quality of string is not good(Please listen CakeWalk3withonlyTTS1.mp3
at the appendix).
C- Mixing TTS-1 with Sonatina
1- InsertSoftsynthSonatina Orchest
2- Tracks 1-5 are brass instruments from TTS1 and 6-10 are strings from Sonatina.
3- ViewsConsole View
4- Click on the TTS-1 softsynth on the console window. You can see the instrument patches for the TTS-1 synth by clicking Patch browser
5- Enter the track data as seen in the following two pictures.
6- To set up tracks 6 – 10 to the Sonatina softsynth we meet a problem: We meet an empty Patch List when we want to set the Sonatina instrument to
a track.
7- We setup the track instruments by: Clicking on the MIDI picture at the left of the track name in the Track view:
8- The instrument list appears when clicked on:
9- Click left arrow and double click No Preset and enter a number for the preset. Press the save button and Select Save Bank. You have set all the
instruments by first loading the bank and then selecting the number. Once you do this setup for each track and save the Cakewalk project it
remembers the instruments by itself.
10- The problem is: The rendering switches to staccato on all the strings after a point, also there were mising sounds. The missing sounds on the MIDI
channel points at the fact that the rang of instruments atr overridden. The instruments cannot play notes out of their ranges. Please listen to:
Cakewalk4plays staccato.mp3 at the appendixes.
11- The reason for this is: Sonatina softsynth can only play one track for one synth. For the solution I switched using Sonatina for all the tracks
completely as follows:
