What is Peptic
Ulcer?
Peptic ulcer disease, also
referred to as stomach or
duodenal ulcers, is usually
caused by bacteria or the
overuse of common pain
relievers.

Causes
The most common causes of
peptic ulcers are Helicobacter
pylori (H. pylori) infection and
nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory
drugs (NSAIDs).

Alcohol or caffeine
consumption
Stress
Smoking
Genetics

Preventions
Avoid alcohol & tobacco products.
Use caution with aspirin and/or
NSAIDs.
Don't ignore your ulcer symptoms.
Protect yourself from infections by
washing hands regularly and
consuming foods that have been
cooked thoroughly.
