INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study

Speaking skills one of the most important things in the student it is uses as a
tool of communication among schools. It is important for all people to survive in their
lives. Every human in the world always used speaking skills because it give in formation
and knowledge, and express their idea and thought. Speaking skills is what we need to
learn because it is important to be able to speak properly.
Speaking ability becomes the competence for people interaction and
communication and it makes people who come from different countries to be comfort in
making interaction and communication. Dealing with common arguments against
teaching speaking skills in the classroom. Students won't talk or say anything. One way
to tackle this problem is to find the root of the problem and start from there.
Moreover, speaking skills can be attributed to various factors as personality
traits, cultural background exposure to diverse. Such languages, motivation levels, and
learning styles. Students who are extroverted tend to have better speaking skills than
introverts.
A completely different reason for student silence may simply be that the class
activities are boring are pitched at the wrong level. Very often our interesting
communicative speaking activities are not quite as interesting or as communicative as
we think they are and all the students are really required to do is answer "yes" or "no"
which they do quickly and then just sit in silence or worse talking noisily in their 14.
To address this issue, schools must provide ample opportunities for students to
practice their speaking skills. The primary purpose of developing speaking skills in
students is to enable them to communicate effectively with others. Effective
communication can help students express their ideas, opinions, and thoughts clearly
and confidently, which is crucial for success in both personal and professional life.
1.2 Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the level of student Speaking skills in HUMSS Strand in
Dadiangas North High School. The student improve their speaking Skills

1. What are the level of speaking skills in the student of the HUMSS Strand?
2. What are the level of speaking skills that help the learner in the HUMSS Strand?
3. Why do HUMSS Strand students need speaking skills?

1.3 Significance of the study

The study, level of students speaking skills in HUMSS Strand Dadiangas North High
School may be significant to the following:

To the students, this study may provide them with a better understanding of how
speaking skills can develop their potentials.

To the parents, this study may help them understand the speaking skills.

To the Teachers, this research may enable them to know the level of the student
speaking skills and it's important to their academic performance that the student speak
properly.

To the Researchers, this study may guide then student to their research. The
students give more information about the speaking skills.

To the Administrator, this research may promote programs and advocacies


regarding how the speaking skills and how to be more.
