    PROCEDURE: BAG-VALVE-MASK

    SUBJECT: PDMA 4334 EMERGENCY MEDICINE I

    NO PROCEDURE NOTES

    1. Open patient’s airway – head tilt-jaw lift

    2. Instruct assistant to stabilize patient’s head

    Choose the suitable oropharyngeal airway


    3.
    • Measurement – estimate oropharyngeal size

    4. Insert the oropharyngeal airway using the correct method

    5. Assemble the bag-Valve-Mask and connect to the oxygen

    6. Place mask over patient’s nose and mouth, anchor using Ce Technique

    7. Start ventilating, watch for chest raise
