Lean project management


(Summary)

what is the project it's a temporary thing which has a start date and end date.  whenever we do
the projects, it has to be done with some methodologies it has to be managed well

The project management have to use all the tools, knowledge whatever skills and experiences
have to integrate them so to manage a project in better way. To manage them, a global standard
says that project is divided into five processes. Initiating , planning, executing, monitoring and
controlling, and closing These are some methodologies of project management which we use.
Traditionally we used to work with our waterfall model we keep working in stages one stage to
another stage It is very common in our construction industry because in construction changes are
very expensive, scope of work has to be defined properly
In critical chain project management, we have to place some buffers b/w the act ivies so in case
any delay we don’t do changes the whole schedule. Another method of doing the work where we
have the agile environment and agile, we do in the form of adaptive environment. In Agile,
requirements are not clear. Agile says we have to follow the individual interaction and then
following the process and tools.

All those methods what we have seen (Agile, a critical chain method, and the waterfall method)
they are based upon push. Push method means you have made a schedule and you push to go and
do the task where the resource available and where the resource is not available.

Kapban goes with the pull approach which is actually the approach of leave that based upon your
resources we have. Whatever the work is, you have to define the clear rules and responsibilities
and you have to allocate them by tasks anyone who is available he will take the task and bring it
in “doing”, once we finish it; we will put it in “Done” so everything will be streamlined
transplant.

the Scrum methodology is a set of roles and processes that are specifically designed for the

PRINCE2 project management is a process-based approach that focuses on organization and
control over the entire project, from start to finish. Last one is Lean project management, goes
around with five principles as if you will identify the value and you will understand the concept
the benefits will be reaching to the stakeholder once you have identified the value map it. map
the value stream which means that make a map of it and think what best you can deliver. Then
create the flow and can establish the pull system and if you will accept the feedback, it will help
you to innovate and seek perfection.

In order make lean work for your organization t's all about your mindset whether its fixed or
growth mindset (A fixed mindset — when we believe that our skills and strengths are set in
stone, and that we possess only a certain level of intelligence, a set of strengths. A growth
mindset — when we believe that we can develop our skills and strengths through continuous
efforts, and grow with our life experiences) that you want to stay in that mindset for the whole
time or you want to go with the great mindset

Lean construction was the philosophy that it is about managing and improving the construction
process and manage with the Improvement because if you keep doing the work and you don't
improve, there will be no value of the time. Lean construction came into existence into 90s.
working with the help of multiple people stakeholders and that is not one person task it has to be
the owner’s designers Architects Engineers contractors’ subcontractors and users

There are benefit of lean construction that improve work quality, increases employee
collaboration and team collaboration exercises boost project satisfaction with the help of
stakeholder engagement and increase the return on investment because this is you this is
customer both have shared Concepts such as the value of money
Lean is focused on reducing waste and with regard to a project delivery system, that would pull
you towards having standardized, repeatable project delivery processes that are designed to make
the project delivery process as efficient as possible and reduce waste in the process.

Delivery Systems they have actually defined if you look what is happening, they are increasing
the collaboration every section of it or every domain of it is overlapping with each other.

LPDS is one of the software and another one is last planner system LPS it is one of the great
things, it contains lean and agile together so where people have the interactions what they do,

These seven types of wastes which occurs in any industry whether it's construction or something
so over production which means we have more than required, we have inventory of the
deliverables, defects, waiting, transportation and over production overworking.
you can use these seven tools to improve, like track sheets on daily basis, Pareto diagram which
is also called as 80 20 analysis, scatter diagram to find the pattern of variations between
correlations that, what are the relations why the errors are happening, whenever we do the
project so you can build a histogram and you can perform cause and effect of perito or a scatter
diagram how to improve the process you can do the flow chart so you can provide them value.

Lean management is one of the top tools that eliminate types of waste in any process. Lean
techniques are typically used in a production environment. There are 8 different Lean
Techniques.
1. Kaizen aims to diversify approaches of improving work processes.
2. Poka-Yoke works to stop errors or flaws from happening.
3. 5S is all about organization.
4. KANBAN encourages improvement in several areas while scheduling production and
reducing work-in-process.
5. Just In Time, is simply a production aims to increase a company's Return on Investment
(RoI) by lowering in-process inventory and related carrying expenses.
6. Jidoka is used to create urgency in order to discover long-term solutions and to stop
difficulties on one station of a production line from accumulating inventory.

7. Takt time is used to maintain a balance between the output of consecutive production
operations and avoid shortages and inventory building.
