Situation
You have just enrolled at Kepala Batas Community College . You make a new friend at your
collage . Make a rolle play with your partner and present . Use the stimuli bellow to prepare
your conversation .
STUDENT A : HI Adam . How are you ? Its been too long . How are you ?
STUDENT B : Hello Shafiq . Im fine . How about you ?
STUDENT A : Yah im fine too.
STUDENT B : Lets talk something interesting . Can you tell me what is your favourite personal
item?
STUDENT A : Yah sure . My favourite thing has to be my new tablet. It’s really light and quite
small , so I take it with me everywhere. I’m always writing to friends and it’s big enough to do
college work on it too. It takes really good photos , and I play games and listen to music on it as
well, of course. I often download files on to it, and watch them in bed. My mum says I’m
addicted, because I’m always on it. I even read things on it at breakfast time. I’m not allowed to
at dinner time, though. I have to be polite and talk to people then. “Welcome back to real life,”
my mum says. What is your favourite personal item Adam ?
STUDENT B : My new scooter! It’s quite small, but fun, and just what I needed for getting
around the city. I used to have quite a long walk to the metro, then a longish walk at the other
end to get to college. But now I can just whiz there on my scooter. And there’s no problem for
parking, there’s always space for it. You have to be careful with the cars and lorries , they don’t
always see you and when it rains the surfac
of the road is terrible , it gets really slippery. But in general it’s perfect for me, and I can fit a
friend on the back too . I’ve got an extra helmet for a friend. It’s great. Riding along makes me
feel so free.
STUDENT A : Oopss its getting late for me I should leave now . Hope we will meet sson . Take
care. Bye
STUDENT B : Sure Shafiq . Bye .
Part 3
Situasion
You just arrived at Penang Airport. You plan to go to the hotel that you have booked. However,
you don’t know the way to the hotel. You meet someone and ask for the direction to go there by
referring to the map given.
Tourist: Excuse me officer, I am new to here. Can you help me find my hotel, please?
Officer: Certainly, What's the name of your hotel?
Tourist: It's the Woodsbury Hotel.
Officer: Hmm, I think I know where it is.
Tourist: Is it far?
Officer: No, not really. Do you have a car, are you driving?
Tourist: No, I don't have a car.
Officer: Okay, actually it's only about 10 minutes walk. But if you want, I can call you a cab.
Tourist: No, thank you. I don't mind walking.
Officer: Okay then, let me give you the directions.
Tourist: Thank you. I appreciate that.
Officer: Now, go along this street until you get to the gallery. Do you see the tall building?
Tourist: Yeah.
Officer: So after u turn left you will be at the traffic lights there.
Tourist: Okay, I will turn left.
Officer: Correct. Then go straight on, take the second left and that should take you to the
Woodsbury Hotel.
Tourist: Okay, I will take the second right.
Officer: No, it's the second left.
Tourist: Ah, left. The second left.
Officer: Yes sir, opposite will be zoo and near the museum.
Tourist: Got it, thank you very much for your help.
Officer : No problem, have a nice day.
