1. Scope
This document describes the general wiring philosophy and the clables and wires type that will be used by
CONCETTI in their machines related to the Gibson Island fertilizers weighing, bagging, palletizing and hooding
installation.

3. General wiring phylosophy

3.1. All cables will be of the flame-proof type.
3.2. Conductors will be according to IEC 60228, class 2 for fixed installation, and type 5 or 6 for movable
installation.
3.3. Armored cables will have galvanized steel armoring if not otherwise specified.
3.4. Cable sections will be computed according to EN60204-1. Signal cables will have 1 mm2 section, where
applicable. Some special application, such as PLC I/O cards and similar, could require smaller sections.
3.5. If not stated otherwise, the following sections will apply:
Service Voltage Section
Power inside electrical cabinet 400 V – 50 Hz ≥ 1,5 mm2
Power outside electrical cabinet – stationary laid cables - 400 V – 50 Hz 2,5 mm2
Motors
Power outside electrical cabinet – stationary laid cables – 400 V – 50 Hz 1,5 mm2
Motor brakes
Power outside electrical cabinet – mobile laid cables - Motors 400 V – 50 Hz 1,5 mm2
Power outside electrical cabinet – stationary laid cables – N/A As per DESINA
Brushless motors standard
1.5/2.5 mm2

Power outside electrical cabinet – mobile laid cables – N/A As per DESINA
Brushless motors standard
1.5/2.5 mm2
Neutral N/A ≥ 1,5 mm2
Earthing N/A 2,5 / 16 mm2
I/O cards for PLC (A&B) N/A 0.5 mm2
Profibus cables +24 VDC 0,5 mm2
Multi-core calbe inside cabinets – leaving from terminal blocks N/A 1 mm2
Command inside the board +24 VDC Min. 1 mm2
Command inside the board -24 VDC Min. 1 mm2
Command inside the board 24 VDC Min. 1 mm2
Command inside the board 24 VDC Min. 1 mm2

3.6. Electrical continuity of shielded cables will be done by dedicated ground terminals and by EMC cable
glands for motor controlled by variable speed drives, on motor side.
3.7. Electrical continuity of armoured cables will be done by EMC cable glands on motor side and by
dedicated ground terminals on the other sides.
3.8. The marking of cables on the outer sheath will be according to manufacturer’s standards.
3.9. Identification for wires in the cables according to CEI-UNEL 00722/2003 or IV-VDE 0293
3.10. All components such as motors, valves, sensors, junction boxes are numbered according to the
wiring diagram numbering. All cables will be marked at both ends with indelible and unique number
according to electrical wiring diagram. This will be considered as item tagging.

3.11. Cable trays and cable protection

3.11.1. The cables (power and command) exiting from the main board are placed inside SS wireframe
cable trays Cablofil for the weigher, bagging machine and palletiser. The hooder will have plastic
cable trays.

CABLE LIST
PAGE: 5 of 6

3.11.2. All cables and trays will be inside the machinery or at heights that cannot be reached by the
operator during the normal machine operation, given the presence of guarding (barriers) that will cut
off the power supply if crossed. Cables placed inside the protection fence that could be reached by
the operators during maintenance or abnormal operation will be armored type if not installed inside
cable trays.
3.11.3. The trunking goes within the immediate vicinity of the end-user equipment. From the trunking exit
directly to the machinery, the cables are placed in piping or tubing with open curves and
consequently, in certain points, the cables are unprotected.
3.11.4. For the power part fixed on the machine (not mobile), connection between the trunking and the
end-user will be handled with a cable. This cable is fastened at the two ends (trunking and motor)
with polyamide metric-pitch fittings.
3.11.5. The power and command cables will be housed in a single trunking. Mechanical separation will
be done via metal dividers only along the straight segments of the trunking. Where possible,
3.11.6. the cable trays will be filled to a maximum of 80%, without any limitations as to arrangement or
layers.
3.11.7. The cable trays and their supports will be sized considering only Concetti cables. If not other
stated, it is expressly forbidden to add any external cable to the cable trays.
3.11.8. Air hoses can be placed (only at certain locations) in the same trunking holding the cables.
