Guéridon Bas 

Jean Prouvé, 1944

In the early 1940s, Jean Prouvé began to
work more extensively with wood. The
Guéridon Bas table has a heavy top in
solid oak or American walnut resting on
three legs in the same wood. These
elements are joined together by a robust
construction made out of bent sheet
metal. Guéridon Bas is also available with
a dark finish, harking back to an original
version made of tropical wood known as
the ‚Table Africaine‘.
Materials
∏ Table top: solid wood in natural oak with
oiled finish, dark stained oak with protective
natural lacquer finish, or American walnut
with oiled finish.
∏ Base: legs matched to table top, solid wood
in natural oak with oiled finish, dark stained
oak with protective natural lacquer finish, or
American walnut with oiled finish; connecting
element: bent sheet metal, powder-coated
(smooth) in deep black.
∏ Origin of wood: oak (Quercus robur) from
Western Europe and/or Poland; American
walnut (Juglans nigra) from the USA.
