AFFECTIVE STYLISTICS
 Regrets is always at the end.
We only appreciate our good fortune once it is gone. Life and love were both squandered on Badoy and Agueda. A couple's most excruciating experience is learning to
live with one another while repressing the beautiful abilities they both possess out of pride and prejudice against one another.

 Pride is the trap of ego pleasure.

The story's most dynamic and conflicted character is Agueda. Her personality changed little, but she changed Badoy after her death. Agueda showed courage and pride
in her first meeting with Badoy. She didn't show it, but she did admire Badoy at times. Hence, when married to Badoy, Agueda had to hide her love for him due to her pride and
prejudice. Therefore, Put aside our ego and try being more empathetic and humble. Pride is a fragile emotion that is easily bolstered by compliments. Those that are humble try
to avoid and feel ashamed by such situations.
PRAGMATIC STYLISTICS
Perlocutionary Act is used
As the intended meaning of Don Badoy with the phrases he used to describe the witch was not got by his grandson. When in fact, he is pertaining
to Doña Agueda with his descriptions.

The description used is figurative

The brutal words used by Don Badoy doesn't actually imply its literal meaning. Such as words like bewitched, ate my heart, and drank my blood.

They used creatures as metaphor

In the overall story, the terms used such as devil and witch has its deeper meaning. Both of them actually didn't see neither of these creatures.
They are pertaining to each other.
PEDAGOGICAL STYLISTICS
 Our future is ours to claim and not everyone’s opinion matters.
In the story of Nick Joaquin he actually reflects on how difficult and very different the life before especially to a women. Women has no right to
choose who they want to love for they are being forced to marry a man who they don’t even know so much deeper yet.

 Fight for what you think is right.

The story is actually about the vital issue of marriage back then. Wherein women are being forced to marry the guy that they don’t like. It’s like
freedom was taken away from them and they had no right to decide and fulfill the life that they desire.
