(a) How many different combinations of the buffet are possible?

(b) What is the probability that a random plate has breadsticks?

2. Four artists and five mathletes have created a club and are gathering to collaborate on a project. (8
Marks)

(a) What is the probability that the first three to arrive are three artists and two mathletes (in that
order)?

(b) The nine members of this club are lined up for a yearbook photo. In how many ways could the
members be lined up?

3. Jules is borrowing jewelery from her Grandmother for prom. She will borrow one bracelet, one neck-
lace, one pair of earings and one ring. (10 Marks)

(a) How many ways can Jules select the jewelery?

(b) What is the probability that she mixes the diamond studs with the diamond ring?

(c) What is the probabilty that she selects exactly one gold piece of jewelery?
