Instructions for the Holiday Assignment
Dear Parent
Kindly note the instruction regarding Holiday homework
• Use Holiday Homework as an opportunity to spend quality time together. Let your child
take the lead and use his/her imagination, creativity and knowledge to do the assigned
task.
• Develop Reading Habit
Reading is a very good habit that one needs to develop in life. It develops language skills
and vocabulary.
• Holiday assignments will be assessed as Subject Enrichment Activity. Use school Subject
notebooks /A4 ruled sheets/ 3 -in -1 note book. or follow the instructions given by the subject
teacher.

• Submission of work Post vacation will be on specified date to avoid heavy bags
• Science Models will be displayed in the Science Exhibition and best 3 models per
class will be awarded.
• Try to use newspaper, old magazines for pictures needed in projects.
• Revise the syllabus covered in April & May for the Unit Test to be held in July.
• We wish you all the best for your vacations .Have fun and enjoy all the moments of
your vacation .
• The School will reopen after vacation on July 3, 23 Monday at usual timings.

English 1. Read Ch- 3 to 6 of the prescribed novel ‘Around the World in Eighty
Days’ by Jules Gabriel Verne and find answers to the following
questions:
A) What did Phileas Fogg mean by saying that the world was big
enough once?
B) Why do you think Mr. Phileas Fogg embarked upon the journey?
C) How did England respond to Mr. Phileas Fogg’s departure?
Guidelines:
• Write the answers on ruled A4-size sheet(s).
• The answer should not be in less than 40 words.
2. Do Pg.- 1-4, 53, 54, 164, 189 and 190 0f your grammar book ‘Tune
in to Grammar.’
3. Write a descriptive composition on ‘A Day without Internet’ in your
classwork notebook for presentation in class.
4. Memorise the poems Ch-2 ‘On the Grasshopper and the Cricket’
and Ch-7 ‘Just Me’ and write the theme of any one of these poems on
an A3-sized sheet. Be as creative as you can with your work.
Hint- You can cut the sheet in the shape of a grasshopper and write the
theme on it.
Meaning of Theme- What is the poet’s message? (One complete
sentence that universally applies to life).
5. Revise: Ch-2 On the Grasshopper and Cricket, Ch-3 The Luncheon,
Ch- 4 Somebody’s Mother
6. Revise: Nouns, Pronouns and Degrees of Adjectives

Rulers, Khalji Dynasty , Tughluq Dynasty, Sayyid Dynasty Lodi
Dynasty) by incorporating the following points

d) Contribution
