Describe a Person

Sherry is a friend of mine whom I have known for 15 years. She is a slim and pretty girl at the flowery age of
18, and has always been the tallest one among the group of friends of ours ever since kindergarten. She is
slightly suntanned, which brings her a sort of exotic beauty. Her fine wavy hair falls gently on her shoulders.
Beneath her horizontally-cut fringe, her sparkling big eyes give away her tenderness. Her sincere sweet smile
can light up my day. She always has an impeccable taste in clothes with a crisp dressing style like the
summer breeze, blending well with her graceful and amiable character.

Sherry is the sweetest-tempered person I know. She is thoughtful and good-natured, and is happy to help
others. Although she is six months younger than me, she has always been like a big sister. When we baked
dessert at my house, she helped me wash the dishes voluntarily. When we planned a trip together, she wrote
down a list of traveling necessities we needed to bring and discussed with me which were the things we
could share. At her 12th birthday, she threw a small party at her house, inviting me and several friends from
her primary school class whom I didn't know. I was a little shy and quiet at first, as I didn't feel like I fit in
with the other girls. But Sherry warmly introduced me to them and invented some games that all of us could
participate in. She sat by me during the whole party, helping me get involved in their conversation about
their common school life. Gladly with her consideration, I integrated with her group of friends at the end of
the day and had a wonderful time. Her caring character is one of the things I love the most about her.

Another shining point of hers is perseverance. As kids, we all had grand dreams like being a ballerina,
veterinarian or scientist, but Sherry is the only one who sticks to her dream. She was a most talented painter
when we were little, and she always dreamed of becoming an artist. As studying load gets heavier, most of
my friends and I let go of our childhood dreams as there was little time for developing our hobbies, but
Sherry managed to keep a balance between her school work and the art. When we entered high school, she
decided to take Art Examination and signed up for training sessions during the summer vacation. Though the
training was extremely intense and exhausting, never had I heard her bring up quitting. Whenever we talked
about the training, she just smiled faintly about her life of getting up early and returning home after midnight
without complaining about it. Through her endless passion for art and her persistent endeavor, she eventually
got a really good score in the examination and was admitted to her dream major of design, which is one step
closer to achieving her goal.

Years of acquaintance has made us really close. Sherry is not only a best friend I am comfortable being with,
but also a role model I look up to. I am grateful for our friendship, and I look forward to more inspiration
she'll bring me in the years to come.
