GRAMMAR
When talking about occupations, the key question is ( ﻣﯽﺧﻮاﻫﯽ ﭼﻪ ﮐﺎره ﺑﺸﯽmikhaahi chekaare beshi?),
meaning, "What do you want to be / become?" ( ﻣﯽﺧﻮاﻫﯽmikhaahi) means "You want," ( ﭼﻪ ﮐﺎرهchekaare)
means "what" (used only for jobs), and ( ﺑﺸﯽbeshi) is the conditional tense of "to become" for the
second person or "you." mikhaahi is just another decided verb form that is placed at the beginning of
the sentence, unlike the usual. But beshi comes at the end, just like any other verb in Persian.
The answer to the question ﻣﯽﺧﻮاﻫﯽ ﭼﻪ ﮐﺎره ﺑﺸﯽis ﺑﺸﻢ... ( ﻣﯽﺧﻮامmikhaam ... besham), meaning "I want
to become ..." It always follows a simple formula, which is: ( ﻣﯽﺧﻮامmikhaam) / "I want" + [occupation
name] + ( ﺑﺸﻢbesham) / "become." For example, "I want to be a doctor" becomes ﻣﯽﺧﻮام دﮐﺘﺮ ﺑﺸﻢ
(mikhaam doctor besham). We put "doctor" as an occupation between "I want" and "become."
Remember that the same verbs can change for each pronoun.

Children start to seriously decide upon their future jobs starting in the high school years in Iran.
"What do you want to be?" is a title often given to students in school as the subject of a composition for
class. Most children want to become an engineer, doctor, or teacher, which are the most popular
occupations among families. Some other occupations like acting are still less supported by parents.
Starting in high school, teenagers have to choose a field of study that interests them and leads them
into searching and knowing about more occupations, like arts, physics, mathematics, etc. And lately, the
number of special training schools that educate students in more detailed fields is increasing. However,
despite all of this, a lack of jobs and employment still sometimes affects society.
