Yield

Due to the favorable climate in Ukraine, fertile soils have formed, which give high and
stable yields. Сhickpeas give three times higher yields than in other countries. Also in
our country there are the largest in Europe areas under sugar beet. Ukraine ranks third in
the world for growing potatoes and the list does not end there.

Zoological park

Askania Nova is one of the oldest and largest biosphere reserves in Europe, located in a
remote part of the Kherson steppe. Here you can see unique zoo animals and birds
collected from almost all countries of the world. The fauna of the biosphere reserve has
69 species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, 295 species protected by the Berne
Convention, 104 further ones protected by the Bonn Convention and 12 listed in the
European Red List.
