on a number line (ACMNA124).
4. Compare fractions and related denominators and locate and represent them on a
number line (ACMNA125).
5. Solve problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions with the same or related
denominators (ACMNA126).
6. Find a simple fraction of a quantity where the result is a whole number (ACMNA127).
7. Add and subtract decimals and use estimation and rounding to check reasonableness
of answers (ACMNA128).
8. Multiply decimals by whole numbers and perform division by a non-zero whole numbers
where results are terminating decimals (ACMNA129).
9. Multiply and divide decimals by the powers of 10 (ACMNA130).
10. Make connections between equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages
(ACMNA131).
11. Continue and create sequences involving whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Describe the rule used to create the sequence (ACMNA133).
12. Investigate and calculate percentage discounts of 10%, 25%, and 50% on sale items
(ACMNA132).
13. Interpret and use timetables (ACMMG139).
14. Investigate angles on a straight line, angles at a point and vertically opposite angles. Use
results to find unknown angles (ACMMG141).
Adult Guidance
This assessment task covers the most common parts of the Australian Curriculum –
Mathematics that can be covered in semester one of grade six. The assessment task can
be given to students across a few days to collect the data you need and avoid assessment
fatigue of students. The first part of the assessment task focuses on Four operations, Order of
Operations, Fractions, Decimals, Percentages, Timetables and Angles.
