EXT. UNKNOWN HOME - FRONT PORCH - CONTINUOUS

The night is eerily silent.

There’s nothing but woods for miles. And out on the deck we
can’t see anybody. A SHADOWED MAN takes a cautious step
outside with his PHONE In his hand.

MAN
Listen, you coward! I’m armed! You
come up here and I’ll fuck you up!

He’s trying for brave - but the stagger in his step and
shakiness say “drunk and paranoid”.

More silence.

Then the man steps back into the house slowly. Slamming the
door.

INT. UNSEEN HOME - FOYER - CONTINUOUS

He slams the door behind him. Breathing heavily as he holds

his gun close.

DING. Another notification on his phone. The man stands there

breathlessly as he takes it out.

Whatever the sight is startles him.

He looks up just as a KNIFE plunges through the door. He

SCREAMS! BLOOD SPRAYS!

SMASH TO BLACK.

CONNER (V.O.)
Hello?

OPEN ON:

CONNER REESE.

He’s pulling himself out of bed in their apartment with a

phone to his ear, HANNAH is right beside him, peering
curiously.

CONNER
What do you mean, dead?

SNAP TO:

A CRIME SCENE.

We see it from an angled perspective at first. Cops are

swarming an older building.

NAOMI
We have just learned the victim was
said to have been found with
multiple stab wounds and to be
wearing a “Ghostface” mask.

Someone’s hanging from their INTESTINES with a Ghostface mask

over their face. A grizzly sight.

NAOMI (CONT’D)
Ghostface was, of course, the mask
popularized in the sensationalized
“STAB” franchise. And was banned
over seven years ago today.

THEN ON: Conner, as he carefully scrolls down his phone to

multiple listed “bootleg” Ghostface mask and costume listings
on ETSY.

JAY (V.O.)
Not as random as you’d think...

CONNER and his FRIEND GROUP: Pearl, Hannah, Naomi, Jay, and
Noah gather around a MINING QUARRY. Naomi stares at the
group.
NAOMI
About thirty years ago - today
actually. The police found the body
of a girl, gutted... Hanging from
the quarry. (Beat) Some people
don’t think Conner’s dad got the
right guy.

NOAH
They caught the guy... And they’ll
catch this one too.

SNAP TO:

PEARL. She’s in what looks to be a MINING TUNNEL. Having

pushed herself away from a boy - we can’t tell if it’s Noah
from this angle. Fear in her eyes.

NOAH (CONT’D)
Fuck that stupid URBAN LEGEND.

A GLINT OF SILVER. Ghostface steps out of the darkness of the

mine with a BLOOD SOAKED knife.
SCENE SHIFT: Pearl is now running away, SCREAMING and
BLEEDING.

THIS HALLOWEEN

CONNER (V.O.)
What if it’s all connected... From
the beginning.

SHOTS OF: NOAH at the bar. He’s staring between both a

skeptical looking DEREK and a disturbed looking JAY.

ANOTHER: NAOMI is pressing herself against the wall of a

CONTROL ROOM. Ghostface is rising just feet from her.

CMAN710 RETURNS TO THE REEBOOTVERSE

MELODY slams CRIME SCENE PHOTOS onto a table in front of

Conner. ANGLE on one of them that dated to the 90s and reveal
a GHOSTFACE MASK.

CONNER (V.O.)
Same M.O. Same mask. How didn’t we
see it before?
MICHELLE runs forward and SCREAMS BLOODY MURDER. She’s
covered in blood - looking frantic at this point. Located in
a location that resembles the control room from before.

CONNER (V.O.)
He’s playing games with us... And
he’s not going to stop...

GHOSTFACE: But through the camera of a RING DOORBELL. Moments

later MIKAELA is covering her mouth in absolute horror. Tears
and mascara running down her face.

CONNER (V.O.)
Not until he has me...

Conner stands before a doorway - staring NOAH dead in the

face.

CONNER
So I’m going to put on my best
“Tommy Jarvis” face and send this
motherfucker straight to hell.

CONNER kicks in the doorway with FORCE. Gun out and at the
ready. He’s absolutely PISSED.

ANGLE ON: HANNAH. Just feet away. She’s bound and gagged to a
chair from behind a pair of GLASS DOORS.

Just as Conner’s about to rush after her however. GHOSTFACE

explodes out from the shadows KNIFE RAISED.

As he moves to strike.

BLACK.

MAN’S VOICE
My, my, my...

One final shot of GHOSTFACE. Approaching an unseen figure

(shown from behind) gun up and raised toward him with firm
resolve.

GHOSTFACE
Now this is a surprise.

BLACK.
