Theorem 4.4.12 (Carnot’s Theorem)


in a triangle ABC with circumradius R and inradius r, the signed sum of perpendicular
distances from the circumcenter O to the sides is:

OP + OQ + OR = R + r

Note: The sign of the distance is chosen to be negative if the line lies outside the
triangle as shown below
In the figure below, OQ is negative as the segment lies outside the triangle

OP + OR − OP = R + r
