4.3.1 Circle Properties


Theorem 4.3.1 (Area and Circumference)
A circle with radius r has
Area = πr2
Circumference = 2πr

Theorem 4.3.2 (Arcs of a circle)


An arc of a circle with radius r and angle a°


Area of a sector = πr2 × = π × radius2 × fraction of circle in sector

Length of the arc = 2πr × = 2π × radius × fraction of circle in sector
