O VERVIEW
GATE successfully conducted IIT KHARAGPUR 2022 Exam in online mode on 13th FEB , 2022
in two sessions for subject MECHANICAL ENGINEERING. This test is conducted to determine
the eligibility of Indian Nationals. The award of the GATE to the successful eligible candidates
will depend on their finding admission/ placement in a Govt Jobs/ National laboratory/
Institution of higher learning and research, as applicable.

As per the analysis, we have found that FEB. 2022 Exam of Mechanical Engineering was
Moderate to Difficult level as compared to the previous Exam. Most of the questions were
Conceptual, Formula Based and Numerical Based Questions.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

▪ Mode: GATE will be conducted by IITs through Online mode i.e., Computer Based Test
(CBT)

• Question Type: The question paper will be objective type i.e., Multiple-Choice
Questions (MCQ's), Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ’s).
