COMPANY HISTORY

EMS Group is composed of five companies that are mostly registered for electronics
manufacturing and training services. The first company, EMSCAI, was established in 2004 with
the challenge to provide employment to displaced production operators in the industry. From
an employment of 89 operators to 3000, 12 years of existence in the manufacturing industry
has prompted all the Filipino company to diversify; hence, the establishment of other EMS
Group companies. Alliance Mansols, Inc. (AMI) was set up in 2010 to provide the need for a
skilled workforce through pioneering training and learning methods that made it the first
recipient of the ISO 29990 certification in the country. In 6 years, AMI has provided
employment to over 40,000 people and is currently employing almost 11,000 manufacturing
work force. Because of its partnership with the Technical Skills and Development Authority
(TESDA) and the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries of the Philippines, Inc. (SEIPI), the
Philippine President, Mr. Benigno S. Aquino III visited AMl's facilities in 2014 to see the conduct
of training in the electronics industry. EMS Land Services, Inc. (ELSI), established in 2012,
provides for documentation liaison, plant and facilities management for start-up investors in
the country. As the demand for more technically skilled engineers continues to steadily grow in
the electronics manufacturing sector, EMS Resources Technology, Inc. (ERTI) was formed to
provide professional engineering solutions and training to major players in the country's

Daily Journal Activity

September 22, 2022

I was already excited for the first orientation for the ojt program for us in lorma Colleges. We
started at 2:00pm we were greeted by our supervisor Ma’am Malone M. Oning she started with
a warm welcome for us students of lorma and she discussed some background of the company.
Then she started discussing the proper etiquettes when joining the zoom meeting she also
discussed to us the process of our work from home set up. She also taught us how the LMC
works and where will we put our progress and that sums up my day 1

September 23, 2022

We were already enrolled in the LMC class because yesterday we couldn’t access our daily task
so our supervisor also told us to meet them via zoom in Monday, Wednesday and Friday sched
so today we don’t have meetings but I’m going to start doing my task in my lmc account. First I
watched the videos provided in our lmc. Mostly I took the Company orientation quiz and the
Payroll quiz today and It was surely challenging the videos presented was very informative

September 27, 2022

This day was really challenging for me because I misunderstood the instruction given by the
supervisor I thought the 5s was just a one activity I did not know that I should upload pics of me
applying the 5s Everyday so I just started today with my 5s so I first started in the bathroom
because that’s the first place I go to when I wake up. And then at the afternoon I finished up
some of my quizzes and I hope that I get the hang of my new work set up. Planning on making a
to do list so that I can set my day on what things I should do.

September 28, 2022

For today’s practicum I personally focused on completing module 2 today so that I can catch up
with the other task that has been uploaded, Module 2 had a really good varieties of teachings
where I learn some Japanese business etiquettes, Some Japanese language that can help me
introduce, or deliver my business meetings with clients that are Japanese. I also learned how
Creotec really focuses on the safety and how to handle your job with the right conditions in
your work area, differentiating kinds of hazards and how we can use them cautiously. In
addition, I also learned a lot about the different kinds of CORE functions such as HR, APP, ESS,
PAY and the like.

September 29, 2022

On this catch up day I look back at my previous files and did the remaining daily 5s because I
wanted to make it up for the mistake I did on Day 3 when I misunderstood the 5s Instruction. I
also uploaded my job interview video in today’s catch up day. I also rewatched the payroll
videos to take note the important formulas I will be using and I already skimmed through the
payroll activity because starting tomorrow I will already start computing for the activity of the
payroll.

September 30, 2022

I rewatched the payroll computation for today and I took down notes especially the formulas so
that I would not bounce back from youtube video to excel. It was really challenging for me to
compute the payroll because I’m not really good at numbers especially the payroll which really
took me time to compute I also had technical Difficulties in my excel that’s why I did some of
the computation manually. I did enjoy it though, even though it’s hard for me. And I am glad to
have a new set of skills that I have acquired through this task that I did today. It challenged my
brain and my literacy skills to go through excel thoroughly.

October 3, 2022

Today I really focused on the annual payroll because I already expected it to be harder because
the blue collared and white collared employees were already challenging. So when I opened the
annual payroll I computed it first like the past payroll that I’ve done but there are instances
where I have technical difficulties but I’m glad that I understand the video I watched provided
by creotec so I did it manually with my calculator, pen and paper and I will just transfer it to my
excel. But I’m glad that I’ve finally finished it and it was so harder than the past payroll that I’ve
finished but it was also fun because I really do enjoy computation task.

October 4, 2022

First we attended the morning prayer and it was really a good thing because I was really
struggling with my task with the OJT and research but having this morning prayer was good it
became my breather so that I can push through today. Then at 9am we had a meeting with
ma’am Lone she instructed us to do our Gantt chart as a group she gave us our groupings but
we still did not planned on what to do because we were so focused on our research but then all
of us decided to watch first the video given to us in accordance with our Gantt chart and we’ll
discussed what we’ve learned when we meet at school and divide the task on what we should
do and meet up again to discussed on how are we going to present it.

October 5, 2022

I was late to the prayer meeting for today because I finished revising our research but even
though I’m still focused on my task in the dashboard for today. I also browsed on the task that
we would do a DTR and payroll processes work. Our supervisor told us to just skip that part and
continue doing the next task so I contacted my groupmates for the Gantt chart and they we’re
still watching the given videos regarding on how to do the Gantt chart. So I decided to take a
rest from my requirements so that I can replenish my energy to do task on the succeeding days.

October 6, 2022

This day I began to talk to my groupmates on their parts of the Gannt chart and I myself tried to
do Gannt chart. Following the video that was provided for us I followed it step by step but some
of the codes were not working so I ask one of my groupmates and he showed me what was the
problem in my codes so eventually it worked we used his Gannt chart in presenting to our
supervisor and we are glad that it worked. After this I will start skimming the other videos on
our next task to have an idea what to expect in our other task.

October 7, 2022

I started my day first by accessing my daily time record to time in then I attended the morning
prayer we did not have a general meeting today so I already discussed with my group-mates
for our Gantt chart because we will be presenting it soon to Ma’am lone our supervisor
We as a group already agreed that I will be the one who will make the PowerPoint
presentation. And we’ll just have an open discussion about the gantt chart of how was it made
and the process of each parts of the chart.

October 10, 2022

Today our general meeting was canceled so our group did not have the chance to present the
Gantt chart to our supervisor. Since we did not present our Gantt chart, I would focus on our
research and have a brief review of the given video task present in my lms so that I can present
our Gantt chart properly.
October 11, 2022

So today I started my day with logging in our daily time record then attended the Morning
prayer. We were expecting to present our Gantt chart today but it was already given to other
schools and we had some revisions on our Gantt chart and for the PowerPoint so I double
checked and fix the revisions that was needed because our supervisor stated that we can
present it tomorrow.

October 12, 2022

Today, We already finished reporting the gantt chart I am so relieved because the codes work
and we presented to our supervisor. So today I already took the chance to start doing other
task and continued to rest because I already skimmed through the next task and It looks a lot
harder but nonetheless I really enjoy it because you can see that creotec really wants us to
challenge us and to give us more knowledge to prepare us in our future profession.

October 13, 2022

First is the usual I logged in our daily time record and look at the announcements if we have any
pending task to do since we don’t have a general meeting today with our supervisor, I already
started looking for the next task which we were going to have another presentation on the
payroll dashboard, pivot charts and slicers so I started watching the videos it was just easy so I
was planning to have a general meeting with my groupmates to discuss on how we are going to
do the task.

October 14, 2022

Today I started my with logging in my daily time record, then I attended the morning prayer
Our supervisor told us that we have a general meeting today and we are going to present our
output in EMS 15 we had problems where the data in the chart was wrong so it lead to our
charts were not moving, Our supervisor gave us a chance to fix it and just present it in our next
meeting.

October 17, 2022

This day we had a discussion about the next group activity in the morning then 3:00pm we had
an event orchestrated by other groupmates in batch 24 named “ Creotalks: Effective
Communication” where we had different exercises to share something about ourselves and
learn how to express oneself and be confident in talking to other people especially when it
comes in the business setting. Then after this I would just take the rest so that I can focus better
tomorrow.
October 18, 2022

Today just the usual I go in my LMS to Time in my daily time record then I scroll to see our next
task which is the payroll dashboard, Pivot Charts and Slicers. So with my groupmates we started
disseminating parts where we can focus and just explain it to other groupmates so that they
would also understand the parts so I was in charge of the Pivot Chart and making the
PowerPoint presentation then we all watched the first part where computing for the Payroll
dashboard and let my groupmates finish that part and explain it to us so that we can proceed to
the pivot charts.
October 19, 2022

To start this day I opened my LMS in order for me to time in my daily time record. As the first
part of the payroll dashboard is finish we had a discussion again with my groupmates to show
how did they compute for the payroll and we the help of the videos provided in our LMS. Our
groupmates that were in charge of the payroll dashboard showed us the parts like where to put
the data in the excel form, the resignations, newly-hired employees, date of resignations and
the like.

October 20, 2022

Today just the usual logging in and time in for my daily time record. So as the Payroll
Dashboard’s done we moved on to the Pivot Charts as I am in charge of doing this part and
explaining to my groupmates how it is done. So first you cannot make a pivot chart if the payroll
dashboard is not finished. So as my groupmates we watched the video provided in our LMS on
how to make the pivot chart, and as they we’re watching I already watched it last night prior so
I was actually doing the pivot charts hopefully I can finish it by the afternoon.

October 21,2022

First the time in for my daily time record. So I was finalizing the Pivot Charts so that It would
look neat, clean and presentable. So we had another discussion where I shared how to do the
Pivot charts, Actually there was no computation here it was just a presentation of the data of
the Payroll Dashboard so I showed them that it was all just technical work where I used excel
and it had a function of pivot charts in the upper right corner, I just simplified the unit that was
in the data and made a chart corresponding to each part of the data. It surely took a lot of time
because not all charts available was presentable to the data it corresponded so I surely took the
time and pick all the charts where we can show the data accurately and nicely.

October 24, 2022

I opened my LMS to logged in for my daily time record. So as the Pivot Chart was already done
the next part is the slicers that was given to my groupmates they will make the slicers and present
it to us on how it was made so same as the pivot chart the slicers cannot be made without the
data of the payroll dashboard and the pivot charts first we watched the video provided in the
LMS so that we have an idea how will it function. We also had an announcement for our
supervisor that we will be presenting tomorrow.

October 25, 2022

As usual I logged in my daily time record. So as our groupmates finished the slicers so we had a
discussion and they showed us how it worked so the slicers are like a program where if you
choose a certain icon the pivot charts will adjust according to the icon you choose and the data
presented in the payroll dashboard. So we we’re all set and ready to present it to our supervisor
but due to certain circumstances our supervisor made an announcement that we will just have to
present it tomorrow so that gives us time to finalize our PowerPoint because I just rushed it.

October 26, 2022

Today I logged in my daily time record. So we we’re all set to present our output everything was
finalized and we are very confident with our output. But we did not had the chance of presenting
it to our supervisor so we just uploaded the PowerPoint and the data from the Microsoft Excel in
our google Documents.

October 27, 2022

This Day marks my final hours in Creotec’s OJT Program so I am already finalizing my task and
double checking all the files that was in my Googledocs looking back I am relieve and happy to
know that I survived this OJT in creotec it was truly fun and Challenging I will surely apply all
the learning that I have learned in my future profession.

Lesson learned/ Insights per week


1st Week
On this week the first thing that we had learned is the background of the company and how the
company operates in addition we also learned how to process payrolls. The payroll involves
calculating total wage earnings, delivering payment, filing payroll taxes and etc. We also
learned about 5s which is also referred to as the 5 pillars of a visual workplace, 5S refers to five
steps which are; Set in order, Sort, Sustain, Shine and standardize. In addition 5s is also
designed to decrease waste while optimizing productivity through maintaining a neat and
orderly workplace using visual representations to attain more consistent operational results.
Work ethic is a set of principles based on self-control and diligence. It has an impact on how
you manage your obligations and how seriously you treat your work. You are motivated and
prepared to act professionally in school and later at work if you have a strong work ethic.
Understanding business organization and management can improve how you connect with
coworkers and how well you comprehend business practices. When you learn Japanese, you
not only become fluent in the language but also obtain an insider view of the culture, making
skills in these areas useful whether you operate your own business or work for someone else.
These skills that I have learned in this 1st week will help students such as myself learn all about
how we can apply our learnings in real life situations when we are in a work setting.

2nd week

On this second week I learned how to compute for the payroll of different workers such as blue
collar workers, white collar workers, their annual salaries computation, Business Unit Payroll for
me this is an important part of my training because as a future Financial Analysis this are crucial
and fundamentals of the work itself without this knowledge it would be hard for me to
accomplish task efficiently and effectively. Even though I am not an Accountant I really find this
really exciting and challenging at the same time. We also Joined the HR department for their
Team Building exercise where they showed us the importance and main purpose of team
building is where we create a strong team through forming bonds and connections that will
further expand to having a healthy workplace, employee motivation, Increased in
communication through employees and etc.

3rd week
On this third week I learned on how to compute for another challenging payroll, including how
to make dashboards, Pivot charts for better representations of data, Slicers for knowing when
or where the data changed. I also learned to reenact my past learning such as the 5’s into my
day to day life I also learned to communicate better with my classmates and team in order to
work together to produce quality outputs. My insights on this 3 rd week really made me realize
on how to focus entirely on the task at hand even though before I really believe in multitasking
which is good but there is also a benefit in dividing the task and conquering then explaining to
your groupmates in order for them to understand better.

Our Presentation about dashboard, Pivot Charts and slicers to be presented to our Supervisor.

We made a payslip for the blue collared and white collared employees for Creotec.

This is the part that I had made this are all Pivot charts including the representation of payroll,
Direct vs Indirect cost, Overtime Pays, etc.
Slicers for the dashboard it is a system that shows a data of how much is the employees payroll,
overtime pay, etc.
