At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identifies the input and output devices in the discussion;
b. value the importance of input and output devices through giving an insight; and

A. Preliminary Activity

a. Prayer

As we go on to our lesson for today, let us (Students will stand.)

ask first the guidance of our dear Lord.
Everybody kindly stand.

Let us pray together, our father.

b. Classroom conditioning

Before you take your seats, I want you to pick

(Students will do as told)
up pieces of paper and arrange your chairs
properly class.

c. Greetings

Good morning students! Good morning ma’am.

You may now take your seats.

How are you today class? Are you feeling Thank you, ma’am.
good or hungry?
Feeling good ma’am.
For those who feel good, good for you and Feeling hungry ma’am.
for those who feel hungry, you may take your
snacks later after our discussion, okay?
Okay ma’am.
Class, I am your teacher for today’s
discussion and I am teacher Regine.

d. Checking of attendance

Are there any absentees for today class?

(If none) Yes ma’am/no ma’am.

Class secretary, list down all the absentees
then give it to me after our class. Thank you.
Okay ma’am.
e. Passing of assignments

Do you have any assignment to be pass today

class?
Yes ma’am.
Pass your assignments forward without If none (No ma’am)
making any noise.

f. Review (Students will do as told)

Before we are going to start our discussion

for our new lesson, let us have a recap first of
the lesson that we had discussed last
meeting.

Now, who can tell me what is our topic last

meeting?
(Students answer may vary.)
Yes John?

Okay very good.

Yes ma’am.
B. Motivation

Do you want an activity class?

Now, for our introductory activity class. I will

show you different pictures and I want you to
take a look and observe.

Yes ma’am/no ma’am.

Mouse ma’am.
Keyboard ma’am.
Are you familiar with these pictures class?
Projector ma’am.
Speaker ma’am.
Can you identify or can you tell me what are
the names of these things class? Anyone?

Okay very good students. These things are (Student answer may vary.)
called mouse, keyboard, speaker and
projector.

Now, do you know what are the functions of

these objects class?

C. Presentation
To know more about those things class, this
morning we are going to discuss our topic
which is about the major functions of
hardware the Input and Output Devices.
But first, let us know our learning objectives (Everybody will read.)
so that we will be guided along with our
discussion. Everybody read.

(Reading of objectives)
At the end of the lesson, you are expected to:
a. identifies the input and output
devices in the discussion;
b. value the importance of input and
output devices through giving an insight; and
c. write the functions and uses in each
of the input and output devices through an
activity in the application.

D. Discussion

Now, let us define what is Input Devices

 INPUT DEVICES are composed of a device

that accepts data and instructions from
the user or from another computer
system.

Example:

Keyboard is used to enter text, characters

and functions into the computer system by
pressing buttons, or keys.

Mouse is used to point and select objects on

the computer monitor.
Scanner is a device that reads or copies
information or images into a computer.

Microphone is a device into which people

speak or sing in order to record their voices
or to make them sound louder.

 OUTPUT DEVICE is any piece of computer

hardware that displays results after the
computer has processed the input data
that has been entered.

Example:
`

Monitor is an electronic visual computer

display that includes a screen, circuitry, and the
case in which that circuitry is enclosed.

Printer is a device use to print texts and pictures.

Speaker is an output hardware device that
produces sound.
Yes ma’am.

Projector is an output device that projects an

image onto a large surface, such as a white
screen or wall.

Now, do you understand class?

Okay very good.

E. Application

Now, let’s have an activity. I will group you

first into four (4) groups.

(Teacher will group the students into 4

groups.)

I want the group 1 to stay here, group 2 here,

group 3 here and the group 4 will stay here.

I want you to form a circle together with

groupmates at the count of 10.

Everybody take your sits now and listen to

the instructions.

This activity that you are going to do this

morning class is called pop and paste. I have
here 8 balloons with a word inside. I will give
two (2) balloons each group. All you need to
do class is to pop the balloons and get the
word. Then you need write the functions of
those words that you will get from the
balloons and I have here the materials where
you are going to write the functions. Then
you need to paste the word in the board Yes ma’am.
together with its function base on what kind
of example of devices it is. It may be an
example of input or output devices. Every
group must choose a secretary to write the
members of your groups and the rubrics.
Each group should also choose two
representatives to paste and discuss their
outputs here in front. I will give you 5
minutes to discuss your answers in your
group and 1 minute only in presenting your Yes ma’am.
outputs here in the front.

It that clear class? Yes ma’am.

Here is the rubrics for your activity.

computer users to differentiate between
input and output devices. An input device
sends information to a computer system for
processing, and an output device
reproduces or displays the results of that
processing.
Okay very good again dear students. As a
student, why do we need to know the
functions and uses in each parts of the
computer specially if it belongs to the input
device or output device?

Okay very good students. It seems like you

really understand our discussion class.

To evaluate your knowledge, let’s have

another activity.
