Parts of Motherboard

PCIe (peripheral component interconnect express) Slot is an interface

standard for connecting high-speed components. Every desktop PC
motherboard has a number of PCIe slots you can use to add GPUs (aka video
cards aka graphics cards).

A connector on Peripheral Component Interconnect and the
associated physical space occupied by the installed PCI card.
Use to connect RAID cards, Wi-Fi cards or SSD (solid-state drive)
add-on cards.
A CPU socket uses a series of pins to connect a CPU's
processor to the PC's motherboard. If a CPU is connected via
a CPU socket, it is not soldered and can therefore be replaced.
CPU sockets are more common with desktop gaming PCs than
they are on laptops.
A memory slot or RAM slot is what allows computer memory
(RAM) chip/stick to be inserted into the computer. Depending
on the motherboard, there will usually be 2 to 4 memory slots
(sometimes more on high-end motherboards) and are what
determine the type of RAM used with the computer.
The ATX 24-pin 12V power supply connector can only be plugged in
while pointing a specific direction on the motherboard. If you look
carefully at the following illustration, you can see that the pins take a
unique shape, a shape which the motherboard matches in only one
direction.
The ATX 4-pin power supply connector is a standard
motherboard power connector used to provide +12
VDC to the processor voltage regulator.
Serial ATA (SATA, abbreviated from Serial AT Attachment) is
a computer bus interface that connects host bus adapters to
mass storage devices such as hard disk drives, optical
drives, and solid-state drives.
CMOS is short for complementary metal-oxide
semiconductor. CMOS is an onboard, battery powered
semiconductor chip inside computers that stores
information. This information ranges from the system
time and date to system hardware settings for your
computer.
The front panel header is where the connectors of hard disk
drive activity lights, case speaker, reset button, power on/off
button, computer power on light, and key lock, are connected to
make them function smoothly.
South bridge is the another chip of the logical chipset architecture. It is
located to the South of Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus in
the motherboard. The main function of South bridge is to control the IO
functioning.

The Northbridge is the controller that interconnects the CPU to memory via
the frontside bus (FSB). It also connects peripherals via high-speed
channels such as PCI Express.
Front Panel Audio Port & Connector is used to enable and
activate front audio port of the case.
A heatsink is a piece of metal that sits on top of a computer chip
such as a CPU and draws power away from components by
letting it rise through a set of fins. ... Heatsinks leverage a
thermal conductor to move the heat into fins, which have larger
surface areas and thus disperse the heat throughout the
computer.
A Computer Port is an interface or a point of connection
between the computer and its peripheral devices. Some of
the common peripherals are mouse, keyboard, monitor or
display unit, printer, speaker, flash drive etc.
Mounting screw holes are used to mount motherboards to ATX
Case or Computer Box
