Abstract:

Introduction:

- Parallel RLC circuit

The parallel RLC circuit consist of the following components which are resistor,
inductor, and capacitor that are connected as a parallel which means all the components are
connected across a voltage or current source. In parallel circuit the applied or total voltage
across all the components connected to it remain constant but if a current source was inputted
the current gets divided in each component depending on its impedance. Impedance is the
measurement of the opposition to the current within a circuit. Because the current flowing in
the resistor, inductor, and capacitor are not in the same phase with each other, they cannot be
summed analytically, the total current pulled from the source is equal to its total sum of all
currents.

- Natural and Step Response of Parallel RLC circuit

A natural response of parallel RLC circuit refers to the combination of parallel
circuits that has no independent source and as for the missing value of the resistor,
Thevenin’s theorem could be used to compute the Rth to find the value of the resistance
needed to complete the RLC circuit. And for the step response of parallel RLC circuit an
independent source and a switch is added to the circuit. If the change is an abrupt step, as it is
here, the response of the voltages and currents is called the step response. The step response
is a common way to give a circuit a little "kick" to see what it does. It tells us quite a lot
about the properties of the circuit.

- Overdamped on Natural and Step Response of Parallel RLC circuit

If the roots are real and distinct it is called overdamped, and the response is said to be
overdamped if it indicates that alpha is greater than omega not (α > ω 0). Or it is said to be
overdamped in the form the constant A1 and A2 are to be determined by the initial conditions
V(0+) and dV(0+)/dt.
