development?

Development --> Plan, Code, Build, Test

Operations --> Release, Deploy, Operate, Monitor

Who are the Personnel involve in Operation and Development?

Admin (Operations) – to assure that the systems are running efficiently and handling any
requested changes to those system (ie customization, configurations, and development).

Analyst (Operation and/or Development) – the mediator between admins/developers and the

end users of the systems. Other than analyzing and documenting system requrements,
procedures and processes

Developers(developments) - Developers are the ones creating the system and adding
functionality to the system. Their primary duties are to code/configure/and push the system
forward to the next stage for the company.

Information Systems is a must for any organization.

The great amount of time and effort is required to create a fully functional Information
System and will often take at least 1-10yrs depending on scope or complexity of the needed
processing and the most important ingredient for the development of information system is
the budget (for the cost of labor and material)

Companies cannot wait years for a system to be implemented before using mainly for the
following reason

1. Technology grows exponentially - chances are the THEN perfect plan drafted years ago
has now grown obsolete.
2. Competitive edge - the key in business is currently information, whoever has more or is
quicker will have the edge.
3. ROI ASAP - Technology is a heavy investment, and investors often want their investment
back ASAP
