Introduction

Quite a few of these pioneers in thought and action provided vital building blocks to the

construction of the current educational paradigm, which is now in widespread use throughout the

globe. It's probable that their innovative problem-solving abilities and ability to see things from

many perspectives are directly responsible for the extension of learning possibilities and the

development of stronger relationships between educators and pupils.

John Dewey and my father and their leadership characteristics

John Dewey

The progressive perspective holds that an individual's ideals and worldview should

evolve in tandem with the overall advancement of society. If we wish to prepare the youth of

today for the challenges they will face in the future, education must evolve to meet the needs of

the contemporary world. Progressives think that in order for schools to contribute meaningfully

to the evolution of society, institutions must adapt to the unique requirements of each student

(Jeynes, 2007). Remember that Dewey was a proponent of individualized education, a teaching

style that has been demonstrated to increase pupils' academic performance. According to John

Dewey's view, "there should be no gap between the child's experience and the varied subject

matter that comprises the curriculum”, (Jeynes, 2007).

Father as the Head of the Family

A person is called a leader if they can command the respect of others and motivate them

to work toward a common goal. Despite the common perception that fathers are the

breadwinners in their families, moms play an equally vital role in their children's growth and

education. It is customary to attribute the formation of a positive self-image in girls to their dads.

This is because dads are often the first prominent male role model for a daughter. Papa is not a

member of the home staff in this family. To impose one's will on one's children is not parenting;

rather, this is an example of leadership. It is essential to respect the father's status as head of the

family.

Whether you're a parent or a teacher, you probably already have a sense of how

challenging your task will be. John Dewey thought that pupils learn most effectively when they

are actively engaged in their studies, (Journal of Inquiry & Action in Education, 2017). As a

consequence, he advocated for classrooms and learning settings that mirrored the realities

students would encounter in their daily lives. My father has always emphasized the importance

of individual study, with the intention of equipping us to continue our education regardless of

where life takes us.

Conclusion

Future generations' educational possibilities in the United States will be

profoundly affected by the political decisions taken today, which will have far-reaching

consequences. Early in the nation's history, political upheavals had a profound influence on the

educational system.
