1. What do you know about so…that and such ..that?
a. So... That
So is placed before a modifier, an adjective or an adverb, to intensify its quality or manner.
This emphasis on the modifier expresses a remarkable situation. This clause can stand alone
as a sentence, or it can be paired with that + a clause to express an effect (result) of the
remarkable situation mentioned in the main clause.
1.) “So + Adjective/Adverb + That + Result”
We can use “so” with “adjectives /adverbs + that” to explain the result. And
also, it is used to indicate that something happens at extreme points. However,using
“that” is not necessary.
Examples:
You are so beautiful that I can’t get my eyes off you.
This machine works so loudly that I have a headache.
2.) “So + Many/Few + Plural Countable Nouns + That + Result
“So” + Much/Little + Uncountable Nouns + That + Result
We can also use “so” with “quantifiers”(many/few/much/little) + that” to explain the
result. However, using “that” is not necessary.
Examples:
The child had so many toys that he could not decide which to play.
She has so few friends that she always spends time watching TV at home.
He eats so much sugar that he may be a diabetic.
There was so little food that many people died of hunger.

b. Such... That
Such is placed before a modifier and noun to intensify the quality of the modifier. This
emphasis on the noun phrase expresses a remarkable situation. This clause can stand alone
as a sentence or it can be paired with that +a clause to express an effect (result) of the
remarkable situation mentioned in the main clause.
1.) “Such + Adjective + Noun + That + Result”
We can use “such” with “adjective + noun+ that” to explain the result. And also, it is
used to express extreme feelings or an opinion about something.
Examples:
She has such beautiful eyes that I can’t take my eyes off her.
2.) “Such + Judgemental Noun + That + Result"

We can also use “such” with “judgemental noun+ that” to explain the result. And
also, it is used to express extreme feelings or an opinion about something.
Examples:
No one is such a fool that he loves death.
The baby is such a cutie that everyone loves her.

2. What is your finding about the special things or the interesting things of so…
that and such …that?
“so…that” and “such…that”, both of them:

a. have same meaning in a sentence.

b. are used to explain the result or to explain an opinion about something ( which are mentioned
before ).

c. are used to express both the cause and the result of a situation in a sentence.

d. have differences in their use in the sentence

Now we can see these differences;

1. “So” + ADJECTIVE

We can use “so” with adjectives.

“So” gives meaning to the words which are expressed,“very” or “that much”.

Examples:

Tom seems so happy now.

HOWEVER:

“Such” + ADJECTIVE + NOUN

We can use “such” with “adjective+noun” to show extremes. In this case,

“Such” gives the same meaning with “So”.

Examples:

He is such an intelligent boy.

2.“So” + ADVERB

We can use “so” with adverbs.

“So” is used to express “extreme actions” in the sentences.

Examples:The teacher was speaking so loudly.

HOWEVER:

We do not use “such” with “adverb”.

3. “So” + JUDGEMENTAL ADJECTIVE in exclamations

We can use “so” with judgemental adjectives for emphasis, especially in exclamations.

Examples:
You are so stupid!

HOWEVER:

“Such” + JUDGEMENTAL NOUN in exclamations

We can use “such” with judgemental nouns for emphasis, especially in exclamations.

Examples:

Don’t be such a fool!

She is such a liar!

4. “So” is not used with nouns.

But if we use quantifiers (much/many/few/little) with or before nouns, we can use “so” with these
nouns. In this case, we can use “so” with “plural countable or uncountable nouns”, not with
singular countable nouns.

“So” + MUCH/MANY/FEW/LITTLE + NOUN

Examples:

They have so many childrens.

HOWEVER;

“Such” + NOUN ( Such meaning is “This or That kind of …” )

In this case, “such” means “this kind/type of …”.

We can use “such” with “singular/plural countable or uncountable nouns”.

Examples:

Why did you say such a thing?

My mother is an expert at solving such problems.

I can’t believe that you spent a lot of money for such furniture.

3. Create a short paragraph of any theme which contains so…that or such…

that.
