SECTION A (60 marks)


Answer all questions in this section.

1. (a) In a Southern zone examination the probability of passing advanced

(d) A tank contain a solution of salt water. Initially the tank contains 1000litres
of water with 10kg of salt dissolved in it. The mixture is poured off at a rate

litre per minute. All the time the tank is stirred to keep the mixture uniform
(i) Find the mass of the salt in the tank after 5 minutes.
