Epistle

From President, LFCW

To All Mission stations in Nigeria
Subject A call for Intercessory prayer Towards the forthcoming General Election
Date February 10, 2023

Covenant Highways Greeting in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

As it is written, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and
will heal their land.” 2 Chr. 7:14
By the prompting of the Holy Spirit, God is asking me to proclaim a 3-day prayer and
fasting to secure the mercy of God and turn His wrath away from our nation. This came
with a note of urgency.
The following questions will help us see how much this land needs the cleansing and
healing power of God:
 How many want to see security of lives and properties restored in Nigeria?
 How many want to see a nation where parents can send their children and wards to schools
without the fear of kidnapping, abduction or even killings?
 How many want to see a nation, where travelling from one place to another will no longer be a
nightmare?
 How many want to see the right kind of leaders emerge at all levels in the forthcoming general
election?
 How many want to see a peaceful, crisis-free, and bloodless election process before, during and
after the forthcoming elections?
 How many want to see a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria as an aftermath of the forthcoming
election?
 How many want to see a united and strong nation, where all ethnic groups, tribes and religions
will live together in peace?
……and many others
If we truly desire the healing of our great nation, we must rise up in prayers and call for the
mercy of God to forgive our sins and heal our land – 2 Chr. 7:13-14
This is why by the prompting of the Holy Spirit, I have been directed to proclaim a 3-day
prayer and fasting across the nation, starting from Monday, 13 to 15, February 2023,
where we shall be holding intercessory prayer meetings every evening in our various local
Assemblies and at our various set times.
However, while members engage in the congregational prayers, leaders are admonished
to go the extra miles as individuals and God who sees our labour in secret shall reward us
openly – Mat. 6:6/17-18
 Nehemiah stood alone in the gap for his nation, God heard and answered him – Neh. 1:1-19/
Neh. 6:15
 Elijah stood in the gap as an individual for Israel and the whole nation turned back to God
– 1 Kgs. 18:21-39
Remain ever blessed!
Jesus is Lord!
