Science 2nd quarter reflection

As a student entering grade 10 science, I was both excited and anxious. While I was eager to learn new
concepts, I was also concerned about the more difficult learning scenarios that were to come. What I
didn’t expect was the appreciation I would feel for the scientific approach to problem-solving. I have
learned about the Electromagnetic spectrum, the 7 electromagnetic waves and their frequencies,
wavelengths, their effects, and the specific uses for each electromagnetic wave, an example being the
use of X-rays in the medical field, and the use of microwaves for communication. I have also learned
about mirrors and its different types, convex, concave, plane, as well as its terminologies, the vertex,
center of curvature, radius of curvature, principal axis, focal length, and the focus. Related to that, I have
also learned about reflection and the specific cases and formulas used to calculate the reflection of a
mirror. Overall, my 2nd quarter science experience has been decent, I have learned many things and have
reached a further understanding of this world’s properties, I have learned how these lessons apply to
real life and the benefits of having knowledge of such things. This quarter has pushed me to improve my
analytical and problem-solving skills.
