Traditional and Alternative Health Care (TAHC) Practitioners in Four Provinces in the
Philippines” by the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care
(PITAHC)

Dear Honorable Vice Mayor Jumawan:

Greetings from Macro Health Research Organization!

Our team was commissioned by PITAHC to profile TAHC practitioners and to assess the current status
of traditional and alternative health care in the country. In this regard, we would like to request for an
interview with you to help us assess the current landscape of TAHC in your area, as well as strategies
of managing TAHC under universal health care.

Data generated from the profiling survey and key-informant interviews will help PITAHC create and
implement activities for TAHC practitioners and harness their potential contributions to the public
health system. Furthermore, the assessment of TAHC could contribute to the development of a more
scientific approach to TAHC policymaking, a step towards ultimately harmonizing TAHC with modern
medicine. I have attached both the project briefer for your reference.

The interview usually lasts for about one to two hours and may be conducted via Zoom or face-to-
