ADVISORY ON THE USE OF ZERO THIN-CLIENTS AND REMOTE DESKTOP PROTOCOL


(RDP) IN ALL JAMB APPROVED COMPUTER BASED TEST CENTRES

Please find below advisory for the implementation of no use of zero thin-clients and Remote
Desktop Protocol (RDP) in all JAMB approved Computer Based Test centres.

Computer Based Test centres are to ensure that;

1. all the clients are not using Zero Thin-Clients i.e. computers requiring a server for
its operating system;

2. the centre network systems are not on Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) requiring a
server for its operating system throughout the period of the conduct of UTME;

3. all clients system are at least 2GB RAM and;

4. please note that failure to abide by these rules would lead to the non-accreditation of
your centre.

ADVISORY ON PROCEDURE FOR ACCREDITATION OF


COMPUTER BASED TEST CENTRES

Please find below updated requirements for accreditation of Computer Based Test centres.

1. The Autobot test must be done in three (3) stages:

i. Pre-accreditation: The Autobot test must be carried out and uploaded not later
than 20th, November, 2022.
ii. During Mock Examination (a day before the examination)
iii. Dummy Examination (i.e. a day before UTME to confirm the suitability of the
centre).

2. Centre Administrators should note that ONLY centres that have conducted and
uploaded Autobot test successfully within the datelines would participate in the physical
accreditation and continue to be in partnership with the Board.
3. The Centre must, as part of Autobot testing, ensure that uninterrupted backup power
supply (not generator please) is made available for at least thirty minutes (30mins)
during the accreditation.
(a) If inverter, it must be on UPS mode during the Test and Dummy examination.
(b) The power backup provided must be able to hold power for at least 30 minutes
without any disruption.
(c) Any centre that cannot meet up with the above will not be accredited.

4. All switches are now to be Gigabit Switches deployed in the network

5. All switches must be connected to the uninterrupted power supply during at all times.
This must be strictly adhered to.
6. The Centre must make available a quarter of the total number of switches used at the
centre as backup. The backup switches must be tested during accreditation, mock and
before the dummy examinations.
7. All requirements for accreditation as stated in the guidelines (i.e. cubicles, functional
CCTV, generator, clean environment, functional cooling system, cross ventilation and
commodious halls, etc) must be met and not compromised before a centre is accredited.
8. Computer Based Test Centres must ensure that either of the recommended uniform
Brand for DVRs/NVRs as stated below is put in place:

(a) DVR: HIKVISION, AHD camera, HIKVISION 1080 5MP 32 channels DVR
machine

(b) NVR: HIKVISION IP camera, HIKVISION 1080 2mp/4mp wide range 32


channels NVR machine.
9. The specification for the positioning of the cameras at the centres must be followed.
The CCTV Cameras must cover every part of the hall and other strategic points of the
centre.

10. There must be a clear signboard indicating the name of the centre and address, placed
at a strategic location.
11. Any centre that does not put on their CCTV or deny Technical Officer access to copy
the footage will be sanctioned. Technical officer must also be given access to the
centre LAN architecture.

ADVISORY ON GUIDELINES FOR REGISTRATION OF 2023


UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION/
DIRECT ENTRY REGISTRATION EXERCISE

New policy guidelines have been initiated by the Board to improve registration process.
Please find below the update on the procedure for 2023 UTME/DE Registration Exercise.
1. Computer Based Test centres would be allowed to have two (2) additional accredited
registration outlets within the state.
2. Three (3) SIMs may be issued to each centre on application and meeting satisfactory
conditions of such application.

3. The Computer Based Test Centre should note that under no circumstance should
cyber cafes and tutorial centres be involved in the registration exercise. If violated,
the Computer Based Test Centre will be sanctioned.

4. Computer Based Test Centres should furnish the JAMB Zonal Director/State
Coordinator with the full address(es) of the registration outlets detailing the street
name, landmark and plot/house number (this should not be located on the same street
of an existing Accredited Center).
5. As part of the requirements for printing of registration slip, a candidate must use at
least two fingers for verification to print his/her slip. The two successful verification
fingers will be indicated on the registration and examination slips.

6. All candidates with Biometric challenge should be referred to JAMB Office in the
State.

7. It is compulsory for all Computer Based Test Registration Officers’ biometric to be


captured as part of registration process.
