63 53 71 59 46 61 41 60 54 55 64 61 61 50 61
a) Group these figure into a table having the classes 40 44, 45 49, 50 54, 55 59, 60 64, 65
69, 70 74, and 75 79.
b) Convert the distribution of part (a) into a cumulative less than distribution.

weeks of six working days each.
35 45 63 60 76 75 69 89 75 72 75 64 73 70
49 60 55 75 85 65 67 97 83 40 58 85 65 89
38 65 71 93 43 51 59 65 87 75 32 55 78 61
a) Group these daily sales figure into a distribution having the classes 90 99, 80 89, 70 79, 60
69, 50 59, 40 49, and 30 39.
b) Convert the distribution of part (a) into a percentage distribution.
3. Analysis of the 40 grades on a college transcript, where the possible grades were A, B, C, D and F
revealed that the students had attained the following:
B F A C D B C C C B B C B C A C C B C C
B C B A C D C B D B C B A D C B C C B C
Construct a table showing the frequencies corresponding to the grades achieved by the student.
4. The total number of overtime hours worked for each of 30 consecutive weeks by data processing
personnel in an office was 252, 240, 244, 249, 224, 235, 235, 269, 216, 228, 230, 215, 236, 229, 221,
237, 253, 233, 228, 256, 210, 223, 222, 240, 231, 230, 244, 245, 255 and 230. Construct a stem and
leaf plot with one digit leaves.
5. A double stem plot can be prepared manually as shown here. Using * as a place holder for 0, 1, 2, 3,
and 4, and ● as a placeholder for 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 we get
Stem Leaf
4* 2
4● 7 5 5 5
5* 4 1 1 1 3 4 1 1
5● 7 8 9 8
6* 4 2 4 2
6● 7 9 9 7
7* 2 2 4
7● 8 8
8* 3
where we double the number of stems by cutting the interval covered by each stem in half.
a) Construct a double stem plot with one digit leaves and indicate the median for the following
data:
252 240 244 249 224 235 235 269 216 228
230 215 236 229 221 237 253 233 228 256
210 223 222 240 231 230 244 245 255 230
